“My kids usually love Mac and cheese, and they love your lasagnas and other pasta dishes, but this one they didn't - they found the sauce too runny, and a little oily. I'm not sure if it's related to the freezing/reheating process with cheese. The crunchy top was appreciated though!”
Hey Tanya,
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on our Mac and Cheese, although not what we hope to hear we really appreciate it!
This dinner is often a hit with kids in the family and is the ultimate comfort food. The combination of ingredients such as full-fat cream, milk, butter and cheese can lead to a really creamy dinner but also create some oiliness when heated. We do hope the crunchy crumbed top soaks some of it up! We do find that if it's cooked from defrosted it can be slightly less oily than when cooked from frozen but it is inherent in the dish to an extent. If the oiliness was beyond a reasonable amount please do reach out to us and we'd be more than happy to look further into it.
Thanks again Tanya and we hope the next time you enjoy this it's less runny and oily for you.
