“If you are going to pack a pie into a largish oblong or rectangular foil dish at least wrap it in pastry. There was 'pie' pastry on the top of the dish and then...just mince and peas underneath. No pie base. I don't know I thought at least It would be circular. I thought hey! Maybe they actually bake pies and they are sending me one. It wasn't even like a Shepard's pie ..just mince and peas with a sheet of pastry sitting on it”

It's one of our most popular dishes, so our apologies that you were disappointed with the rectangular shape. We haven't had the opportunity to photograph the dish in a rectangular tray- since changing the packaging from a round tray to a rectangular one. Our apologies for this and I'll pass on your feedback to our marketing team, to help ensure that our kitchen team will test cook the pie and update the photos on our website! The reason behind the change in tray shape was due to the many customer requests - suggesting the round tray just didn't store and stack as compactly into their freezers as neatly as the rectangular trays do!

The pastry-topped pie lid covers the delicious filling of slow-cooked beef and vegies, which include roasted carrots, celery and peas. The veg are cooked down with onions and garlic before slowly braising the beef with homemade veal stock, tomatoes and extra flavour from thyme and rosemary. We do hope you enjoyed these flavours as much as we do!
