“My #1 Vaping Battery all these years since first one bought back in May '22! I was admiring how good mine has been and decided (yeap its time for a new one...). While im here ordering, i figured i would also give it a proper review/its "flowers".
- Really nice weight to it. With its strong, resistant zinc alloy construction. Its feels substantial/premium in the hands of the user and also provides excellent durability. I have lost count how many times i have dropped it when getting out of my car, slamming it into the pavement bc forgot it was on my lap).
- Never once an issue though, it just keeps trucking along! IF the 'sliding mechanism' ever breaks on you though (which never happened to me on its own). Its pretty easy to put it back together for someone who tinkers/works with gadgets all kinds of stuff and comfortable with taking things apart. So yea, i took mine apart and put it back together to just figure out its inner workings, as i like to do on certain products i own like this one if its possible. If you do decide to take it apart (which i believe they dont recommend for obvious reasons lol), just take you're time and TAKE PICTURES! Its not really needed here as its only just a few pieces, but in any case taking pics as you go along is 100% the right move)
- Perfect size battery (900mah), which is big enough for plenty time/days without having to charge it and small enough to be still pocketable.
- Type-C charging (at the time of release not alot of other batteries had type-c yet. i remember being happy they did this and how they chose Not to skimp out on mini usb-a).
- The board/chip inside this is really good quality, top tier, as the hits are always solid no matter what voltage set at. Able to examine upon tear down.
- The "matte" smooth finish is just awesome to feel in the hands, alongside those ice cold sexy stainless buttons & an OLED screen.
- Great screen information; tells everything ya need to know. Being able to adjust the voltage in 0.1 increments is a must have & very nice feature, alongside the addition of a Hamilton SHARK logo is a nice touch....same logo for when turning the device on/off. Very cooool!
- Being able to "lock" the voltage setting is also a great feature that can sometimes go overlooked. Its really nice being able to just "set & forget" the voltage setting, and then not have to worry about it changing in my pocket from an 'accidental' button press.
- Another big pro is seeing how it truly conceals/protects ya cart for you.
- Lastly but surely not the least is the pocket/switchblade sliding mechanism feature! This battery became my start-up ("break the ice" if you will lol) conversation piece. Its such a cool piece and they usually wanna try it, lol. About it only being able to fit a 1g cart size doesnt really bother me, as i feel 1g is like the 'sweetspot' for carts anyway, and most (worth buying atleast) quality carts only come in a .5 or 1g anyways usually.

I have quite a few vape/cart batteries by now (it got a lil crazy there for a min ordering bunch of different ones lol) and like i said in the beginning. This has Hamilton The Shiv has been my #1 and never dethroned from its spot this entire time. “I'm not a huge consumer, but I can appreciate a good hit. I am a medical user and look for medical strength in doses. All I use in mine is wax and heavy oil. The Shiv hits the spot, and with authority.
The controls took a bit of getting used to. My other battery is a side-folder, this is as easy or easier to operate. I like their bigger buttons, tactile feel and quick response. Voltage is quick to respond and the adjustments are solid. The best part is the hits!
The Shiv is not a 5 to 10 second pull kind of battery. This thing steps up and serves it up. A small few second pull produces thick and voluminous vapor clouds. The taste is clean and full, a big plus with me. So glad I got one!”
“I want to start this review with, I almost never write reviews for a product but I am so impressed with this battery i felt compelled to. The first thing you'll notice is how dense it is. It has some serious mass to it which I personally like. The build quality is unmatched by anything i've seen before. My first thought when I picked it up was "I'd pay $100 for this thing. The 'switchblade' action works flawlessly and does not feel cheap at all. I like it at 2.0 volts, its also the smoothest hitting battery i've ever used. My only real complaint is that it is an absolute fingerprint magnet. if you hold it in your hand for 5 seconds its covered in them, other than that it is just about perfect. I will definitely purchase more Hamilton products in the future”
“Best stealth mod I've owned. Had a few in the past that were FOB-key style; brittle durability which ended in breaking after a short amount of time/use. Not like this Shiv, however.
Hard metal shell - built to last and handle your general wear&tear abuse - and easy-to-use button settings. The switchblade feature is fun and is fast action.
Also, the prices DVP offers are the best on the web! Not even Hamilton Devices offer this product at DVP's price and they invented the fukking thing!
