Hi Emily, we're really sorry that you aren't happy with these. Washing them may reduce them slightly in size to fit if they are too big. As they are 100% cotton they don't have the stretch or hold up quite like most socks which have elastane in. If you would like to try our 98% cotton socks please just return the 100% ones and we will do an exchange. Best regards, Jo
