Hi Ruth, thank you for taking the time to post a review and delighted you found the service excellent. I am surprised though re the elastic as my understanding is that the top thread is cotton. We are contacting our supplier to follow this up and will revert further. Best regards, Jo

Hi Ruth, after some investigation we understand that there is a very fine thread of man made (not latex) elastic at the very top which is a technical requirement that cannot be solved any other way - so if anyone claims they can avoid this we'd like to know! Most people will not be aware or find this an issue but if necessary it can be removed, as you have found, or turned over slightly.
