The Truthbrush was born from a desire for a toothbrush that was both beautiful and luxurious, as well as being friendly to the planet. The rounded ergonomic handle is crafted from sustainably sourced, organic Moso Bamboo, grown in an FSC managed forest in China. It is 100% Vegan friendly and cruelty free.
Moso Bamboo is extremely fast growing, providing a more sustainable alternative to other types of wood. You don’t need to worry about depriving pandas either – Moso Bamboo is inedible to pandas, so harvesting this type of bamboo has no impact on them.
The bamboo handle is dipped in an eco-friendly, water-based paint, adding a splash of colour to help you to distinguish your Truthbrush from the rest.
The medium bristles on the Truthbrush are made from a blend of 62% Castor Oil, a renewable and sustainable vegetable oil, and 38% Nylon. Unfortunately a completely plastic free toothbrush bristle hasn’t been fully developed yet (other than pig hair, but who wants that in their mouth?!), but by combining the Nylon with Castor Oil, the amount of plastic in the bristles has been dramatically reduced. Truthbrush are actively seeking out a plastic free alternative, and as soon as one becomes commercially available, they will make the switch. Be very wary of toothbrushes claiming to be totally plastic free – there are many unscrupulous manufacturers out there trying to deceive their customers!
