“I bought these boots as I was looking for a great barn/working boot that would see me through spring, summer and fall.I have the Snowy River for cold days and winter. I love my Snowy River, so I was looking forward to these boots. I did read the disclaimer about them running large, but because I've had numerous problems in the past with other brands(namely Ariat) I decided to go for my regular size, also knowing that in Mtn. Horse's Field boots I wear a half size larger. WOW, are they ever large, but rather than being too long, they are TOO WIDE. When you compare the Snowy River to these boots, you can clearly see that they were built on a last made for Men. These boots are easily, what we call here in the states, a Man's D width. Of course when they finally arrived because I was in quite desperate need, I put my orthotic- arch support and I even added my Snowy River insole as the insole in these boots are a bit of a lousy joke. I also wore 2 pairs of socks, not thin ones either. Now as to the wear, they do stretch a bit, not like the Ariat Canyon that went to a full size larger. But I have to say, I threw everything at these boots for almost 5 months - water, sharp rocky terrain, wearing them everyday, they are still standing and ready for the next round. They are incredibly tough. Here's what I would suggest if you think you're interested in these boots, if your foot runs narrow, don't even think about it, but if you have a wide foot D width or even possibly Double E, then consider these boots. It's really odd that Mtn. Horse went to all of the trouble in making what would be an excellent boot for women who work hard only to actually make it fit a Man's foot. IF these boots hadn't been Too Wide, I would have given them a 5 or 10 Star rating, but because they are I've had to give them a 4 Star, please remember it's a low rating only because of the width screw up, otherwise they are really great boots and I would highly recommend them.”
