Based on the Colonial British Soldier uniform of the late 1800's this Boer War British Hero costume symbolizes one of this nation's most important and defining moments and is perfect for a historical fancy dress event. This costume features a high button-up jacket with brass coloured buttons (the sleeve cuffs are trimmed with shaped black cuff decoration), belt with gold coloured buckle, trousers (black) with elasticised waistband, and to finish a fabric pith helmet.

“Fantastic value : The Boer war costume at a little over [$] is AMAZING value. Admittedly it does look rather cheap but at its price this could hardly be otherwise and it is so well cut that it looks really authentic. The weakest item is the ''helmet'' which is made of cloth. It is meant to represent the type still worn by policemen today and called, I think, the ''Wolseley'' after General Sir Garnet Joseph Wolseley, 1st Viscount Wolsely, 1833-1913, who introduced the type. He commanded in the last part of the Zulu War 1879-80 and also in Egypt but was too late to relieve General Gordon at Khartoum. For a few pounds it would be possible to buy a plastic policeman''s helmet and then paint it white or light khaki but the ones I have tried are for children and are a tight fit and wouldn''t work if you had a large head! It would also be ESSENTIAL to wear a large stick-on moustache! Many thanks for this splendid item!”

“Don''t throw B.**!y Spears at Me!!: I ordered a number of these outfits at the last minute for a Zulu based Stag do. [...] The outfits were good quality for the price, pretty authentic to the film and we had nothing but good feedback from the people of Edinburgh!!”
