“This is an awesome walking aid. I have a busted left knee and a double break in my pelvis right side, so I need to take the weight through my shoulder whilst getting around.
I am 6'1", it is pretty much at it's comfortable limit for me. Much taller and it would be too short.
Bought a rubber cap for the base, only thing it needs. Being 1" at the pointy end means standard caps don't fit, but easy enough to get one at Bunnings.”
“Good solid stick. Perfect height for me, (I'm 6"1' ish).
Nice weight to it. The head is on the large side, took a couple of days for my hand to get used to it, though, to be fair, I had been completely bed bound for 2 months prior to using it.
Definitely needs a boot on it, got mine from Bunnings, 4 for $3, as the plastic is slippery on tiles.
Definitely recommend.”
“Walkabout walking stick is a tough, light and durable product, it feels good in the hand due to its wood grain texture. The top of the stick has a large round hand grip that would an ideal weapon if need be. Put a rubber stopper on the floor end and it is perfect. Highly rate this product.”
“Once again I have received a quality product from Extac the COLD STEEL WALKABOUT WALKING STICK.As mentioned in the advertising this product meets every expectation, very happy with the quality finish and the continued quick postal service.”
“The Walkabout is an extremely well made walking stick, which can be used for self defense if required. If it is planned to be used as a walking stick (rather than a short staff) for a person of average height it will need to be shortened. A wood saw can achieve this easily. The Walkabout is not supplied with a non-slip ferrule, this will need to be purchased separately. They are easily available at a local rubber and foam retail outlet. If shortened for a person of average height, the ferrule will need to be 25mm internal diameter.”
“This is a great item. I carry this every night while walking the dog. A genuine walking aid and self defence item. Even hiking in the bush and forest it is a benifit to aid you in walking on uneven ground and going up steep inclines. The handle ball or club end as you might like to call it, is so solid. A hit from this would be devastating to what ever it comes into contact with. It can be cut down shorter from the ground end to suit your height and make it more comfortable for you. If so enclind you could cut it down in to two seperate peices so you have a short one handed self defence club and also a baton.. I purchases a rubber stopper for the bottom of mine from the local hardware shop. This gives it tremendous grip on surfaces like tiled areas.”
