“Okay it's a lot for a machete, anyone who has ever needed a machete for their actual purpose will know that you will pay 1/3 the price of this then probably throw it away when your treck is over. This has been a pleasure to use, and after 180km and about 30km of that being thick lantana this is still looking new. I have had no need to sharpen it, and there is not a scratch on the blade. I can only recommend you keep the blade well oiled, there is a slight tendency for sap to stick to the matt surface on the blade. The pros definitely outweigh the cons however. I have been looking to my next treck to Peru, this will be the machete I will bring. My only regret is not buying one years ago.”
