“I've had my eye on this tactical spork and knife combo from the amazing Ka-Bar for a while, then recently I ordered one with some other items from Extac. Let me state from the outset that I absolutely LOVE this product... I bought it for a light, sturdy and quiet (no metal rattling) eating option for my adventuring pack and it fits the ticket perfectly. The construction is a solid, black 'Grilamid' (Grilamid is basically a naturally transparent polyamide that is processed using thermoplastic methods. Among the exceptional properties of Grilamid is its lightness, gives good transparency, has high flex fatigue strength, impact resistant and is weather resistant - plus it can be coloured and has low flammability and is resistant to chemicals at temperatures and to stress cracking. It is used a lot in Hella LED lamps for cars so you KNOW the construction is tough!) The spork is VERY solid and I'm certainly not worried about snapping a fork prong or chipping the blade - and jeez is the knife sharp for a plastic! The serrations are wicked and this would certainly double as a protective last-ditch weapon [it would go through fabric and skin with ease and the knife hilt fits anything but a huge hand nicely], but I wouldn't consider it up to the task of cutting branches or doing other knife-work. The hidden knife, if needed, is revealed by pulling the spork in half and releasing the two solid clips that keep it together. Pulling it apart does takes a bit of effort (I tried one handed - nooooo way...) and the two securing clips are super-sturdy - so I don't see this 'loosening' over time or coming apart accidentally. Weight is good, and in the hand it feels like you are holding a heavy metal pen - not insanely light like more expensive titanium offerings for the serious backpacker, but not heavy either. The grip feels good in the hand and features the traditional Ka-Bar ribbed design, and being plastic you will avoid the rattling or noise given off by metal counterparts. SUMMARY: If you want a sturdy, plastic spork and knife set that is solid, light, quiet and black for concealment - this is an AWESOME buy!”
“Light weight, strong, and easily a EDC bit of kit ( used it at a bbq the other day which had average plastic cutlery, cut thru a 1/2inch poterhouse steak with absloute ease). Got one for the CIC (wife) to use at work, she loves it and says all of her colleagues are starting to inquire where to purchase one. Great bit of kit which is to be expected from K-BAR
With a bit of luck you blokes might be getting a few more orders soon
Cheers Pete / Duty First”
