“It's 7 strand nylon, it's bright orange, it looks like paracord, it works like paracord. There is a difference, however... it has an eighth strand and it's red and flammable. So how does it work? After pulling about 3 inches of the red fire cord out I fluffed it up a bit and tested it with a Ferro rod, it took me 3 strikes to ignite (that could be my technique to blame) but when lit it burned for a good 12 seconds. Enough for me to get a fire going with the right tinder. Of course, using more of the fire cord will burn longer. Overall I'm pleased with the results. The ends can be melted just like normal 550 paracord and the few quick deploy bracelets I've made do look rather striking in orange:)”
