I think the video training was wonderful. The faculty at the training course was also great. I think where you could improve for the hands-on course, especially for level 1 is to make each course longer (full day per botox and per filler) and include the following: more hands on treatment planning with instructor feedback and more patients to inject. Have us mark up several different faces (10+), choose doses, do the "math" over and over, and gain feedback on our tx plan from the faculty. These patients wouldn't necessarily be treated but I feel that I struggled only having one chance to mark up a single face and then inject only that face. It's such a variable treatment I think it would really benefit new practitioners to get this diverse experience and expert feedback. Possibly do a "casting call" in the area of the course for people to literally just get marked up over and over, "passed around" the room." I also think that so much of the video portion made more sense after the hands on portion. It might be nice to have some more condensed follow up videos "bringing it all together" to be watched after the hands-on. One other recommendation would be some videos on how an actual consultation should go, going through informed consent, etc. That concept is not new to us but it's such a different type of treatment and presentation and sometimes a different type of patient that I think it would help level 1's feel more confident in starting after leaving the course.

Great courses that imparted the knowledge needed to administer botox and dermal fillers to help our patients. Instructors Laurene and Peter were excellent clinicians, friendly and made it easy to learn. Videos were good but are sometimes lengthy and repetitive. I would recommend and have already promoted to others. Keep up the good work. I wish that AAFE would collapse the courses so we could have more information and advanced techniques in a shorter time. Don't get me wrong, the video preparation/info is great. For example, I think the three intro courses I took could have been done in 4 hours each instead of 8. Other training bodies teach in a more compressed style without sacrificing content (I have taken training from two others with excellent reputations). I understand the principles are built upon each other in layers, repetition is important to cement and idea and practice is needed to implement properly for a good outcome. However, as an example, PDO threads produce much cleaner and sharper lip lines so why teach fillers as a first step, then turn around and teach PDO threads next as a superior technique for doing this? I am grateful for the in-person training. It was overall excellent and the trainer ratios were small enough to really learn quickly.

Review of material, prior to live injecting was poor. Could not hear the leader of the program. Would recommend more than 6 faculty for 40+ attendees.

It was a very casual and laid back course, which made it enjoyable. The only complaint I have is that the filler product that we received was not ideal for the locations that we were taught, which didn’t make a lot of sense to me. It would have been better to get a filler that is suitable for the areas we are learning to treat.

Great class! It would be nice to have a RN or NP be one of the instructors. RNs and DDS/DMD have a different mindset and techniques for injections.
