AAFE was great!! The information provided prior to class was very in depth and gave me a greater understanding prior to attending the live training course. The live training course was also extremely helpful and informative. I would highly recommend this course to anyone that is interested in learning!!

I attended both the Botox/Filler course on Friday June11th and the TMJ/Headache/Orofacial pain course on Saturday June 12th. I'm a Physician Assistant in the inpatient Chronic Pain Management department at the Cleveland Clinic. The initial reason why I got the membership was for the second course on Saturday since I deal with many patients with this type of pain. However, being at the Clinic, they oftentimes do not allow PAs and NPs to perform many of these procedures. So, when I came to BOTH courses, I came in relatively "green" in the sense that I have not done much by way of anything other than just practicing medicine without interventions. So, I paid almost $9,000 for a membership which I felt would provide me with some skills that would translate into something that I could take with me to another system which would allow their APPs the ability to perform more interventional, relatively non-invasive procedures. However, while I was at this two day seminar course, I felt that I was treated rather unprofessionally. For instance, on Friday, when I miscalculated how much toxin I would need for my patient/volunteer, I was then told I should simply inject the toxin back into the vial, which I did, but unfortunately, the needle bent while I was attempting to insert it into the rubber stopper. One of the instructors who was walking around told me to simply open up another syringe by pulling out the plunger and injecting the solution into that syringe. Again, unfortunately (and with the help of the instructor), the needle happened to break off into the new syringe. The instructor who was in charge of my pod then told me that this syringe (with 18 units of toxin) was "contaminated" and proceeded to "waste" it. Waste my "liquid gold", as I learned it was being called, without even a bat of an eyelash. Then, on Saturday, only because I misread the email, I believed the TMJ course to end at 2PM. And, since my patient/volunteer was late, I allowed a fellow classmate to "practice" on me (with product that I paid for) only because I feel that the only way to learn is to DO! So, when my patient/volunteer arrived, it was almost 11AM. At that point, almost all of the attendees had completed their injections and had left. However, I hadn't. And despite the fact that I still had an entire hour to draw up my toxin and complete my injections, I was rushed and made to feel as though I was putting the instructors out. I paid A LOT of money to do this course and in BOTH cases, the level of disrespect and unprofessionalism with which I was treated (not to mention, making my patient/volunteers from BOTH days feel extremely uncomfortable) was completely uncalled for. I obviously came to learn. If I already knew how to do these injections, I would not have signed up nor would I have paid so much of my hard earned money to pursue such an endeavor.

I thought the course was great!!! Loved that I learned a lot online on my own time and pace. My instructor, Dr Olinga Hargreaves, was fantastic! She really made sure we understood everything before we left and made jokes to put us at ease.

The didactic information presented in this course is all relevant but it just gets thrown at you with too many long, online videos that have a very repetitive, infomercial-like feel. Would have appreciated more depth and time spent on the live-patient training portion.
