We considered making the bottom end of the poles pointy/sharp, but had to keep them flat in order to ensure they pass as "standard tent poles" and can't be considered a potential weapon, so you are allowed to bring FEATHERSHADE on an airplane in your carry-on luggage.
Beach conditions can vary, which can be a challenge for all kinds of beach shades, including traditional umbrellas. P.S. I just realized that we had been in a conversation before because you were worried about a timely delivery before your vacation. Looking into your order, I can now see that we delivered within three and a half business days and – Most importantly – early enough to take your FEATHERSHADE with you on your holiday.
I'm happy to learn that this did work out, and I'm sure there's a little wiggle room left to improve the setup.
We receive amazing reviews, and I do as well receive honest reviews from all of my friends. There are beaches that are simply not well suited for any kind of shade that you have to emerge into the sand/soil. Croatia has 70% stone beaches. But as mentioned before, that not only applies to our product but to anything that needs to go inside the ground.

El problema es que seguimos siendo una empresa muy pequeña, y cada color no solo tiene un límite de cantidad mínima, sino que también hay que someterlo a pruebas individuales para garantizar el factor de protección UPF 50+.
¡Pero nos encantaría añadir más colores!
Una nota sobre las opciones de color: si hacemos el color significativamente más claro (por ejemplo, crema), el tejido tiene que ser más pesado para mantener la protección UPF 50+, lo cual no es posible. Si lo hacemos más oscuro, no refleja tan bien el calor, por lo que casi nunca se ven sombrillas de playa negras.

The problem is that we are still a very small company, and each color not only has a minimum quantity but also needs to be tested for UPF 50+ individually.
But we would love to add more colors!
A note regarding color options: If we make the color significantly lighter (e.g. cream), the fabric has to become heavier to keep the UPF 50+ protection, which is not possible. If we make it darker, it doesn't reflect the heat as well, which is why you hardly ever see black beach umbrellas.)
“Wir haben feathershade vor kurzem an der Nordsee das erste Mal benutzt. Fazit: Super kompakt, passte prima in die Strandtasche. Der Aufbau unglaublich schnell und einfach! Jederzeit flexibel neu zu positionieren. Ein großer flexibler Schattenplatz am Strand innerhalb von 2 Minuten - das hat uns überzeugt! Lediglich bei sehr starkem Wind hat sich mal eine einzelne Stange gelöst, aber die ist ruckzuck wieder positioniert. Hallo Sabrina, ich danke vielmals für deine positive Bewertung. Mich als Erfinder und Gründer macht dies unglaublich glücklich. Klingt jetzt etwas emotional, aber es ist einfach so. In den zwei Jahren seit dem ersten Test ist mir auch 2-3 Mal die Stange rausgerutscht. Als Verantwortlicher für das Erlebnis bei der Nutzung des Produktes mache ich mir dann riesige Sorgen. Insofern ist es gut zu hören, dass man als Kunde dann nicht gleich zu grollen beginnt.
Praktisch ist noch hinzuzufügen: Je höher die seitliche Spannung ist, desto schwerer wird es, die Stangen auseinanderzuzuziehen. Idealerweise stellt man die Stange so in den Sand, dass diese aufgrund des seitlichen Zuges durch das Sonnensegel eine ganz leichte "C"-Form annimmt. Man steckst sie dort in den Sand, wo sich die Ecke des Sonnensegels befindet, aber eben nicht gerade nach unten zeigend, sondern nach außen. Um das Sonnensegel zu erreichen macht sie dann einen Bogen nach innen. Ich arbeite gerade daran, das in unserer Setup-Hilfe besser zu dokumentieren.
