“Overall great service, helps eliminate anxiety and stress about needing an extension to file taxes appropriately; my only reason for a 4/5 rating is the 3 prompts asking about additional services which all offer a "free" 1-month trial and then monthly fees incur and can be cancelled at any time, however all services and companies that use these tactics are a bit shady impo. While I understand why it's offered in that manner, verbiage used is designed to make you feel that it's a bigger risk to not select each and every up-sale offer, when in reality they already got $30 for a more expedited and accessible method for something that could be done for nearly free with access to a printer and stamp. The whole premise of free trials is by design, made because most people forget about signing up for them... And get charged at least for a month.. and regardless of circumstance or reason, if you fail to cancel in time, you're liable for the extra fees, which as stated above.. came in threes, it's not even a single offense but 3 "free" 1 month offers, and the verbiage is designed to make you feel like it's risky to stick to the e-file which again is just an expedited form of a free service. The benefits are obvious, if you ran out of time to do a traditional paper extension or are nervous about being on the verge of too late to file by mail, the e-filing for $30 option is not terrible... I trust that it will work, as I still have to wait confirmation but would assume it has been officially e-filed so I can get some rest, without fear of being penalized 25% of my return, so the peace of mind is worth the fee.
The psychological tactics used to get people to enroll in a bunch of extras however, is extremely distasteful and a sad exploitation of the average person's fear of doing anything wrong in terms of their tax filing with the IRS.”
