“If you only use water and never store it in the case, you're fine. I took my straw to Disney, and drank an iced coffee with my final straw. Even with immediately washing it, by the time I got back to the hotel room in the evening the straw reeked as well as my case. I washed it, soaked it and did a vinegar washed. I couldn't get the smell out. A week later I went to pull it out to see if magically didn't smell...nope AND the silicone part got tough and had a hard time becoming straight again? Maybe the vinegar did it? I was really sad, it was such a fun concept, ended up grabbing a three pack of klean kanteen straws off Amazon, love them.”
Hi Morgan,
Thank you so much for traveling with your FinalStraw! We're so sorry you've had some issues trying to be a responsible sucker!!
Usually, you can get your FinalStraws squeaky clean by running it through the dishwasher in a "v" formation. Additionally, you have the option to sterilize your FinalStraw in boiling water with a little bit of baking soda.
We back every product with a lifetime guarantee and would be happy to replace your product at no charge. Please contact our customer support team at halp@finalstraw.com and we will sort this out!

“Super convenient and gets a lot of looks when I whip it out! Friend bought a knock of version for less...and it shows! My FinalStraw is MUCH better quality!”
“It's a great thing to have on you, but I find it a little difficult to really get clean depending on what I drink. My main concern is drying it out after I wash it. I've found breaking it down and sliding it halfway down into it's holder with a fan pointing at it works best.”
