“As an American that has moved to the UK, all my research has told me that I'm a medium (UK shoe size 6-6.5). This is the second company I have bought Merino wool socks from in a medium size where the sizing feels 1/2 a size too big, and I'm quite sure my feet haven't shrunk THAT much on the flight over.
I haven't washed this pair yet, so who knows, maybe my careless abandon when washing will shrink them just that bit needed for them to fit perfectly? I'll update my review if I find this to be the case. As it is now, I find the fabric slowly bunches up under my toes, so I'm readjusting throughout the day for maximum comfort.
Another thing I've noticed: these aren't the "softest" socks in the world. I'm aware of the threading/weave when I walk, but I wouldn't call it uncomfortable. I'm just very aware I'm wearing socks.
However, overall, I'd call these quality socks. I'm tossing them in the wash now, after having worn them for a week with no odor or pilling.
UPDATE: So I washed these and now they fit pefectly. Also, a wash seems to have made them even softer? So now I don't notice the weave under my feet as I walk. Wanted to update my review for those who find they are often between sock sizes: wash them and you may find they fit perfectly! Or, size down and you should also be fine. :-)”
