“We have just returned from the 9 day hiking tour. It was amazing and everything that we had hoped it would be! The trails, the camping and the meals were all wonderful! We loved our group of fellow hikers and our guides. The inflatable sleeping pads are just as comfortable as advertised. I slept well! Marianne and Arthur went above and beyond to be sure every detail was perfect! They worked well together as a team. The choice of hikes and their care and concern for each of us was exemplary. The delicious meals definitely deserve a second mention as both Marianne and Arthur created wonderful dishes. Marianne left no curious questions unanswered. There were a couple of open edges that I was uncomfortable with, but Arthur was encouraging and supportive, and made sure I felt safe. His daily bear jokes added to our van rides and I'm sure his repertoire will grow. Thank you!”
“This was my fave holiday EVER! I came back feeling strong, fit, healthy, and very happy! The hikes were fantastic - challenging and picturesque. The progress through the trip was great and I was delighted to complete the Cory Pass hike at the end of the trip, knowing how much fitter I was. Jafar and Kev were awesome guides. They fed us very well, made us feel safe (bears in camp!) and were super encouraging. And great fun too. Our fellow travellers were also fantastic, we made some lifelong friends. I feel I’ve been spoilt for any future group hiking trips! We would definitely travel with fresh adventures again”
“I had an absolutely amazing time on the 12-day hiking tour with Fresh Adventures. Every hike had a moment (at least one moment, often many) that took my breath away, that was so beautiful I had to remind myself that this was real life, and you can live your dreams, and I couldn't believe the diversity of landscapes and geology we got to explore. Special shout out to Kevin and Jafar, hands down the best guides ever, experiencing the Rockies through your eyes made me feel like I lived it rather than just seeing it and passing through. The food, the music, the vibes, the hikes, the daily routine, the s'mores at the end of the day - it was a balm to my soul and reawakened a hunger in me to explore mountains that I'd forgotten, and that I'd thought might be out of my reach, so thank you :)”
“I want to thank @FreshAdventures tours for organizing such amazing trips! This tour company is just above and beyond in what they do. The camping food was literally blowing my mind on this trip: seafood risotto, medditerenian dinner with grilled halumi cheese and cesar cocktails, Mexican dinner with 3 options of tacos and margaritas, a fondu on top of the mountain, a proper cheeseboard with grapes and smoked salmon on top of another mountain, freshly made cinnamon buns, chili, etc. Laurence and Justine, our French-Canadian guides are absolute sweethearts and I am so blessed to meet so many amazing people on this trip! I took the 12 days Rockies hiking tour (with camping) and this was honestly one of the best trips I have ever been on. We hiked in Banff, Jasper, Yoho, and Glacier National Parks, as well as Kananaski country, and each park offered something different and beautiful compared to the last. The guides were exceptional; both Jafar and Kevin were so helpful and personable, and each day, they would plan out the best hikes for our group - considering the current trail and weather conditions, as well as group capabilities and preferences. This meant that a few times, we spilt up into two groups with a more challenging option for those seeking it/ready for it, as well as more accessible options for others. This was really great, as I think it helped ensure everyone's needs were met. In terms of meals, Jaf's chef skills at a campsite are unparalleled in my experience; I never expected to have flank steak marinated for 12+h in red wine sauce with a kale, parmesan & panchenko salad with red wine accompaniment while camping!! I also wanted to highlight Kevin's navigational know-how, and patience with teaching; I can finally read a topo map thanks to him, haha (and am now working on other nav skills)! Thanks so much to them both! In terms of the camp sites, the one in Jasper was my favourite; it was a lot more isolated, quiet, and (though this is arguably a negative, haha), it's where we saw bears ;) (sidebar: Kevin and Jaf were very cautious and explained clearly how to see the group safe with respect to this). Banff's camp site was very busy (not unexpected), but very quiet at nighttime which was great. The only downside there was the bathroom showers were exceedingly dirty. Shower shoes are an absolute must. The campsite at Golden worked well, but bring ear plugs - there are trains passing - and bring bug spray (again, none of these are unexpected and didn't take away from the trip in any way). A bonus of the Golden site was access to LAUNDRY! It was much needed and appreciated. Showers were available at all sites (paid at Jasper at 2$ for 4 minutes, otherwise free).Gear-wise, definitely bring good, broken-in hiking BOOTS. The website says sneakers are ok or hiking sandals. They really aren't, even for more "easy" days. The worst thing would be to come unprepared and injure yourself or not be able to participate. I'd also strongly recommend bringing trekking poles, to help prevent sore knees on some long descents and add stability. I didn't end up needing rain pants, because we lucked out and had great weather throughout, but retrospectively, I also should have brought these and gaiters. You hike with only a day pack, so if they weren't needed for the day, I could have left them (I had been trying to save weight to avoid having to check my bag with airlines, hence why I cut them from my pack). For airline travel, if you are worried about not getting your checked bag because it's 2022 ;), FYI, you can ship your luggage via ground to a hotel or home within Canada at reasonable cost. I ended up doing this on the way back to avoid losing it at Pearson. Anyway, all this to say, this was truly an exceptional trip, and I will absolutely be keeping an eye on Fresh Adventures for future travel within Canada in the next year(s). If you are on the fence, please jump!”
“Fresh Adventures provided an incredible outdoor escape that I will never forget. I took part in the 12 day “ROCKIES SIGNATURE HIKING AND CAMPING TOUR”. The guides (Kevin and Jafar), were kind, accommodating, and encouraged the group to challenge ourselves to make the most of our time when hiking through the stunning Rocky Mountains. The hikes were outstanding and offered some of the most stunning scenery imaginable. The food was nutritious and delicious. Aside from the hikes, my favorite experiences were the laughs around the campfire after a long and physical day. If you love the outdoors and want to get away from the crowded tourist spots, Fresh Adventures is a great tour company to go with. If you are choosing the 12-day hike though, do yourself a favour and bring good hiking boots and hiking poles.”
“The hiking & camping trip at the Rocky Mountains was definitely a trip of a lifetime. All expectations were exceeded from start to finish. The hikes were really variable and perfectly designed to meet the needs of different level of hikers. It was possible to do a bit shorter hikes if you didn’t feel the most energetic on the day or longer hikes to challenge yourself. Our guide Alex was easy going, supportive and encouraging and made sure everyone felt included in the group. In addition to hiking there were lots of other activities such as horseback riding, mountain biking, rafting, town sightseeing, waterfalls, hot springs etc. You will definitely leave with many new experiences richer! The food was incredible – healthy and hearty meals made of fresh organic ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not forgetting delicious desserts made by campfire like blueberry pie and chocolate chip cookies. Different dietary requirements were well catered. I could not believe I was on a camping trip and would suggest the trip to be named hiking, camping & gourmet tour of the Rockies. The trip is perfect for solo travellers, couples and groups and is suitable for all regardless of your level of experience with camping/hiking. Thank you Alex & Fresh Adventures for an amazing experience and lifelong memories!”
“I did the 12 day adventure about 4 weeks ago. This experience was perfect for me since I didn't have any camping background and needed something to ease me into it. Having the hosts take care of the meals, transportation, and schedule made it easier to focus on exploring and enjoying the Canadian Rockies. And they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. Overall, this was a great experience and I would recommend it to friends. I look forward to joining a different adventure with this tour group in the future.”
