“Joy to use when it's all working. Just bypass the cover "safety" switches, don't lube when milling oak (water+oak dust+steel = RUST!), nevermind how many nuts, bolts and washers come with it; WAY too many and double check work / instructions before proceding with next step assembly. Might be okay to buy somewhere else until Fontier figures out restructuring. Woodland, even MechMax.”
“The mill has performed as promised. I didn’t really think about how much manual work went into moving and turning heavy logs. Even with having a loader tractor it’s a lot of effort. If I did it over I would probably bought more automation.
The better blades are worth their price. I’ve replaced the belts with a much better brand. I am really enjoying my new mill as a wood worker it’s fantastic having my own supply of hardwood.
For the price of this mill it’s a fair value. I wasn’t really happy to find out it was manufactured in china. But so far no issues concerning that. I’ve had my mill about three months. I’ve sawn approximately a dozen logs of ash, walnut. D.H.”
“The mill is fantastic the only real problem.is loading and turning large logs due to the weight.i found that it's best to mount it on beams directly on the ground rather than a trailer because the trailer will move on you when moving the heavier logs and a general heads up make sure the dogs and supports are out of the way before each cut.those will dull the blade in a hurry lol .its a good machine”
“So far we've only cut material for out bridges for our ATV trails.. We had some issues at start up with the door switches.. called got replacements. The saw seems to preform well can't complain. It's not a production mill. It does exactly what we bought it for.. easy adjustments, easy to operate. We do notice that the sawdust plugs up fast with damp sawdust in the discharge, we're gonna cut the center out,see no reason to be there. All in all it's a good mill I'd recommend it for the woodlot owner that wants to keep busy.”
