Great watch. I have owned one for about 9 months to referee youth and high school matches. I find most of the multi-function watches not terribly user-friendly. (I own three different watches and use the Robic and the other on every match.) There is a small learning curve to get used to the different functions, but generally, it is pretty straightforward. The count-down function is great because it has numerous possible settings such as 17 minutes if you desired -- the match lengths are totally adjustable. The count-up function, which can used concurrently or independently can be used to time total elapsed time, half-time break, etc. The count-down will start counting up once the down-down is complete. The watch has a wonderful simplicity to it. The negatives? There are a few. Probably the worst (for me) is no vibration upon completion. I'm hard of hearing (too many years playing in rock bands in my younger years), and as such, I use it as my backup watch rather than primary. I can't hear the beep 99% of the time. My other negative is that, when wearing on your right wrist as I do, you can accidentally stop the timer with wrist movement/position. This hasn't happened often, but it's why I keep two watches for a match. (I have also thought I started my primary only to realize it never did start and so rely upon the Robic.) My sons have both started their referee work. I'll be purchasing the Robic for them.
