“I have been making my own oil for quite some time. But have been basically trowing away the Everclear. At almost $50CAD/bottle, gets pricey. Recovering the cost of solvent alone should pay for the unit.
Works as advertised. I was skeptical at first, but after first cycle completed, I was very impressed. Used 3oz dry chopped bud and about 1L Everclear. I managed to spill some of the recovered solvent, so no idea to the exact amount recovered. I will say it was very acceptable. It took a few cycles to process all the solution.
Because it is done in a closed chamber when evaporating and condensing, the evaporated solvent fumes or odor is not very noticeable in room. The room should still be well ventilated.
PROS:
- It Works As Advertised!
- Recovery ratio very acceptable.
- Small footprint
- Bluetooth connectivity to monitor operation Android/Apple
- Relatively quiet operation. vacuum pump kicks in once and a while and cooling fan runs constantly when powered.
CONS:
- A little expensive
- Disappointed Teflon was used as a coating on the crucible. I think a ceramic or porcelain coating would have been much more appropriate.
- Difficult to remove all the finished extract. An included syringe and silicone spatula would have been nice.
I think somehow integrating a magnetic stirrer would be an incredible feature on future models. Also, the ability to precisely control heat, to decarb the extracted product as an optional finishing process.
Ordering was hassle free. Although I got no shipping notice/tracking number, shipping was fast. This was my second purchase from GrowDaddy.
Highly recommend the Source Turbo. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5, and not 5 Stars, is the fact Teflon was used as a coating on the crucible.”

“Omg I would never go back to the old way it was so easy my first oil I overdid it and turned into dabs it was awesome and I've been on line doing lots of research so that my second turned into a beautiful Amber shatter even though it was ugly it was a nice clean buzzzzz. But I was kind of shocked at the price of the ethanol I thought you were talking u about a litre not 8 oz. But a joy to work with.”
