I do like this moisturiser and have been using it daily for a fortnight. It hydrates my skin well without feeling too heavy or greasy. In fact it is one of lightest feeling creams that I have ever used. It is chemical free which is nice to know but not really a big selling point for me. I can't say my skin looks any better for using it but it certainly moisturises it well. It does not have a scent either which will appeal to some people.

This cream blends in easily but doesn’t do a very good job of moisturising my skin which still feels a little dry straight after application. I’m 56, it might be fine on a younger skin. There’s no SPF which is poor for a cream claiming to act as a “defence”. I’m not keen on the pump action bottle either. From new it doesn’t work very well and I know it will soon be a case of having to withdraw the pump in order to get any cream out. As the bottle is glass with a small opening, it will not be possible to use up all the product either. Please just use a little pot you can put your finger into, much less wasteful.

I was sent the cleanser, toner and moisturiser for review and I love all three. The cleanser is a gel and smells lovely and fresh. It washes really thoroughly too and even when I use the toner afterwards it doesn't leave much extra dirt as the cleanser has done such a good job. I have been using it for months and it still has loads left too. The toner smells minty and fresh but not harsh and you don't need it as the cleanser has done such a good job. The moisturiser is also lovely and fresh and isn't greasy. My only wish is that there was an SFP in it, but other than that I love the whole set. Highly recommended, and great price too.

First of all, I really don't like the pump applicator for this moisturiser. It takes lots of pumps just top dispense a small amount of moisturiser and it's really quite annoying. The white plastic pump also feels cheap and considering the price tag of this moisturiser, it could be much better. Aside from that fact, this is a nice moisturiser. It feels quite thick but does leave my face feeling soft without it being greasy, which is great for me as my skin gets very oily during the day! It doesn't have a particularly strong scent to me, I do like a nice smelling moisturiser. I find this moisturiser way too expensive for what it delivers, I've definitely had nicer premium moisturisers so I wouldn't buy this one.

I use this as my daily moisturiser. It is light, non-greasy, and easily absorbed by skin. The bottle has a pump top but doesn't release much with each pump. I need four pumps for one daily usage. It is very lightly scented, and inoffensive. It lasts all day no problem, but if it had SPF, it would be a five-star product.

This moisturiser comes in a neat, see through container. It pumps out easily and I find two or three 'pumps' enough to do my face and neck. The cream sits on my skin briefly with a mildly greasy feel but melts in soon after. The overall smell is pleasant. After two plus weeks winter use, my skin feels pleasant and I haven't come out in spots (not always a given).

My wife liked this day defence cream from the outset. She thought it was easily absorbed and immediately gave her skin (a lasting) grease-free but well moisturised and hydrated feel. Her skin looked plumper and more radiant as well as smoother. She recommends it for use in the coming winds and gales of winter to minimise the damage caused to facial skin by such weather conditions.

Day Defence Cream form Herbal Essentials (brain keeps reading Herbal Essences!) - a facial moisturiser for all skin types. According to the packaging, this is "formulated with pure Himalayan Spring Water, high in essential minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and potassium to boos skin renewal. Enriched with Wheat Germ Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Sweet Almond Oil. There is a 50ml pump bottle inside the cardboard packaging. The cream is white and fairy thick, but absorbs without too much trouble. My skin is combination normal/oily and occasionally sensitive. This has left my skin surprisingly soft, even after only a few days of use. The thing it is missing for me is SPF - something I pretty much expect from a day cream these days. At £36 (current Amazon price), it's also relatively expensive (not quite up to premium prices), so I might consider buying this in the future, depending on how it continues to perform - lack of SPF isn't so much of an issue in the winter I suppose!
