“I was actually quite pleased with this purchase. I bought a New York Times printed on the day of my wife's birth, 75 years ago. It was in remarkably good condition. And it is both fascinating to look at a snippet of life from the day she was born, and have a piece of history to pass on to the next generations.
I had hoped to find one from the big city near where she was born. But the Times is so iconic, I thought it would do. And it did! Thank you!”
“I was given an old newspaper for my 75th birthday. I gave one to my husband and my cousin for his 80th birthday. THESE ARE THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFTS EVER!!! It is so unexpected and such a delight to see what was happening in the world on the day you were born. Bit of advice: If someone was born in NYC in the 1940s or 1950s, you want to get the Daily News, the Post or the Journal American. Avoid the New York Times. They delivered "all the news that's fit to print" which means you don't get all the juicy stuff you'll find in the other papers.”
