“I ordered the special birthday book with front page news for every year since birth and was a littel disappointed to see that it was only the Daily Mirror that was represented. this was not made clear on the description. So if I had known i wouldn't have ordered this book.”
“I received one book for my son Duncan. Really happy with it. Followed up with orders for another two books for his siblings. They are both useless. I asked for birthday books starting November 1971 and October 1969. The November one starts in 1973 and the October one is a daily record, in reverse, for the year 1975. I am so disappointed. This is not what I ordered and paid for. The birthday gifts for this year are no more. I am Isobel Dinning. Duncan Dinning is my son and the receiver of the first and only correct book.”
“Be careful! - if you are looking for a 'milestone' compilation (aged 50,60,70 etc.) their 'offer' may not what you think. Firstly, they only offer Mirror headlines but this is not obvious until you pull down the small print sub menu about 'contents'. Secondly, there is great confusion about 'birthdate' and 'birthday'. This is a fully-automated process and my order seemingly applied for a 70th anniversary for an unborn person! No checks or balances or even 'red flags' to capture the absurd. They need to sack their programmer. When I pointed this out to Historic Newspapers they tried to fob me off saying it was my fault. But, only when I spelled out the failings of their algorithms did they provide a refund - but not with a wholesome unconditional apology.”
“Lovely book and good quality. I bought this as a gift for an elderly relative who was extremely pleased with it. However I did find it worked out a little expensive by the time personalisation, extra for hard back, and gift box were added on.”
“The product itself is very good but the actual interface/planning tool is a little clumsy. For starters, it was unclear whether the dedication was on the front of the book or the inside page. I had to contact customer services to confirm it was on the inside page. The dedication is also limited to only 300 characters which is not very long. I'm a trained journalist and I had trouble condensing a long friendship into 300 characters! In the end I had to leave my initials, not my full name, which was better than nothing but it would've been nice to leave my full name. Furthermore, I found lots of space on the first page given to a lot of general information about the product which I feel is unnecessary. I'd suggest more space for the dedication and also perhaps an italised signiture from the sender to give that special finishing touch.”
“This was a gift to celebrate a 60th birthday and it was well received. The recipient was blown away with the news from each year of their life. They were not familiar with the earlier news but the later ones brought back nostalgic memories. They said it was a lovely surprise and the best gift. I woul highly recommend.”
