“The annex is great. It was hard picking out which one to order and I ordered the tall version for the mini. I should have called and asked. The poles a little short for someone who is 6’2”, so headroom is tight at the edges of it.
Otherwise it was phenomenal. Great craftsmanship, kept the skeeters out and was a nice room for my dog. Also super nice to have a changing room at the tent so the neighbors don’t stare, cause I look like a fish out of water changing clothes in the tent.”
“We decided to test the annex on a tear drop trailer to test a new rig set up. We loved it!!! It offered so much more interior space than I expected. As a result, I needed much larger moving blankets to cover the floor area. I did spend a bit of time setting it up for the first time trying to figure out what side was up, in, out and down. I highly recommend that iKamper include much better instructions. But nevertheless, I eventually figured it out. It also held up incredibly well to really high winds. Also, big kudos for the quality stakes! The ground floor was practically bedrock. Considering how hard I hammered, the stakes didn't bend. I though for sure I was going to ruin them, but no, they held up really well. I can't wait to take it out again...Yosemite, Mammoth, Joshua Tree and Kern River here we come!”
“We bought our annex from a 3rd party website as the annex on iKamper’s website has been out of stock for a while now.
We received our annex about a week ago and haven’t been able to test it out officially yet, but we had a chance to unbox it and open it for the first time in front of our house. It’s a lot more compact than what I had expected, but also a bit heavier than what I expected. The setup looks a bit complicated, but a lot of youtube video studying will help a lot! Once you get the hang of it, it seems fairly simple. The attention to detail on all the bits and pieces are phenomenal. The only flaw I would say was the weight of the whole annex itself, and the time it took to set it up. Comparing to how easy of a set up our tent is, wish there was a way to make the setup a bit easier. (Took us about 30 minutes the first time, but we feel we could get that down to about 15 min, once we get the hang of it!)
We’re excited to test this out this weekend, and love the fact that it is a all weather item! Overall, great product!”
“The annex caught my eye from the moment I saw it set up in the showroom. It's an amazing addition to my Skycamp 2.0. We love having a living space to stay out of the rain (or shade from the hot sun). Much easier to set up and tear down than I expected. My kids really love it and there's no chance we'll camp without it as it has become a staple for our camping adventures.”
“No instructions but fairly intuitive to attach - make sure the tent is setup up with the entry canopy hood and 2 metal rods attached. Then zipper the tent to the annex at the tent entry, get inside annex and attach 4 velcro straps from annex to bottom of tent through tent's metal loops, put up 2 poles that comes with annex, steak everything. It's a 2 person job but you can manage with 1 person. Annex does not have a floor so you will have to use a tarp if you want a covered floor. Would have been nice for iKamper to include the poles for the 3 annex shade/cover for their pricing but, alas, that is what you get for getting the Mercedes of tents, everything is an option...it's not really a cost issue, just an inconvenience to have to order all these little things that would have otherwise been included with some other brands. Sturdy.”
“This is a great add on if your are going somewhere colder or rainy or anywhere you need shade. We actually put our Ikamper on the back of the trunk of our truck, which made it shorter. The annex is long, and therefore is better if set up at higher height from the top of of the car instead. One con about it was that it did not come with instructions on how to set it up, it took a while to figure it out. Other than that it as great for rain, waterproof. Also I wished it came with a middle poll to make shorter set up better for the rain water to roll off the top.”
“Overall a great investment. Some pros to the Annex, it’s huge! Plenty of space for whatever you choose to do with it. Privacy or full window views with a breeze is a nice option too. Some cons, it’s a bit difficult to setup by yourself. Having the main RTT open in less than 60seconds is great, unfortunately the Annex takes a solid 30-40 minutes to properly setup. Due to the size, it’s hard to manage alone. No instructions, had to watch the videos while setting it up. Not enough poles included. Stakes were easily bent. For the price, they could have included some more poles. I’m glad I have it, not sure I would bust it out during quick turnaround trips. Definitely a longer stay type of addition.”
“Absolutely massive! The skycamp 2.0 is huge and the annex makes it look dwarfed in comparison. Super easy setup and tear down. The zippers are some of the best I’ve ever used. I only wish it came with instructions on how to fold it back up, but the storage bag is plenty large enough for quick packing up”
