“I took this course at work in March 2018. It last two days, and the instructor covers many useful writing skills and concepts. The students apply these concepts in individual and group exercises that include writing and revision of real document samples applicable to our work. I recommend the course to scientists, engineers, program managers, editors, or anyone who wants to write more persuasively and succinctly.”

“Most professional writing courses focus on how grammatical structures and word choice enhance readability. In contrast, Ms. Hurley placed the emphasis on why we communicate in the first place. In drawing our attention to many of the subliminal aspects of writing, she presented a truly captivating lecture on how we can very quickly craft a easy to read document that meets the needs of our reader. As you can tell here, I continue to struggle with wordiness, but I have hope that I can tame this. Knowing that there is a "foundation" under the basics of grammar and vocabulary, writing-has become a much more intriguing and enjoyable task. Thank you. And thank you for recognizing the detrimental effects of powerpoint on the learning process!”

“Only giving it 4 starts because i think out time on the last day could have been better managed. It felt very rushed at the end with no overall wrap up.”
