This soft OLED 120Hz SKU for the iPhone 14 pro gives me, as the repair shop owner, the perfect mix of quality and price for my customers. The Apple original variants are often outside my customers' price range for repair. However, knowing that I have the same grade in quality screen like this one to offer my customers without any loss of features or functionality is a win-win for them and me at a price that they're able to afford. When I installed this particular screen in my customer's phone just a week or so ago we actually thought we had a part quality issue with this variant. Within an hour of the repair the customer realized that he had lost his notification to wake feature on his phone. Plainly speaking, this is when a notification such as a text message via iMessage comes into the phone that the screen automatically wakes to show him the notification on the lock screen. After isolating it being an iOS issue we originally thought it may have been a part quality issue with this particular screen. After intensive troubleshooting we discovered that I, as the technician, had slightly damaged his ambient light sensor when removing it off of the back of the display. The proximity sensor was still functioning but the ambient light sensor was not. I ended up replacing that sensor with another one and immediately his notification to wake features came back. I think this is a perfect example of the part quality and quality assurance that companies like injured gadgets go through to ensure that we are getting the best quality screens. Oftentimes we as technicians are quick to blame the vendor and the part when in fact we have created a problem due to technician error. I was very glad that this screen continues to display the quality that it deserves for the price point and that even in this instance I was able to keep my customer satisfied and uphold the integrity and QA of these screens.
