“I finally got them on! I was waiting on my suspension to come in and when I got these they looked and feel very well built! While installation I was both watching and reading the instructions I noticed that there are 2 types 1 with a washer on the boot and other not. I was confused but glad the instructions showed me exactly what I needed to do, I got the one with no washer which was fine and it was an easy install. After I drove it I felt the difference instantly even without the alignment done! I recomend this uca for anyone looking for one! “My recently replaced ball joints failed from over articulation of the upper control arm, after installing Bilstein 6112 front coilers with only a 1/2 in lift. I decided to go with the JBA STD High Caster UCA's. These provided better clearance from the springs and additional articulation at the balljoint to ensure there is not another premature failure. I love that the Ball Joint and the bushings have grease zerks to allow for easy user maintenance. I have noticed a difference in steering while cruising at highways speeds with the increased caster providing better stability, especially on windy days.
I have only had them installed for a few weeks now, but I am very impressed with the quality and performance of these UCA's. They were also a breeze to install and get the proper alignment using the included installation guide.”
“Just a warning to anyone with the "older" style ball joint in the JBA UCAs. If you live in a northern climate with wet, salt, sand etc. (I live in NH) your ball joints will fail prematurely even with the proper recommended maintenance. That's only reason for my lower star rating. In just upset I'm now forced to shell out another 120$ after only a year and a half of use. My factory arms and joints lasted 20 years even with my level kit.
The updated joints have been redesigned to help with this. That's great but I think you should offer a discounted price for those of us in my situation. I rarely offroad and don't abuse my FJ cruiser. And I followed the grease recommendations.
Otherwise I'm happy with the alignment and functionality. I would recommend the newer design since it will likely stop this from happening.”
