“I made my first - and only - purchase a moth ago. I'd read the various reviews and thought I was ready. Only one slightly negative comment stood out. It said the Mango flavour, which I wanted to try, didn't taste of enough Mango. That was ok. I don't really expect these shakes to taste exactly like their titles.
Wow! Was I in for a surprise?! Not only did it not taste of 'enough' Mango, I can't even begin to describe what it DID taste of!! When I emailed Jimmy Joy, the reply was that taste is subjective and you can't please everyone. Fair enough.
However, the taste wasn't the worst of it... and it certainly wasn't a matter of subjectivity. The texture was terrible! The company likes to promote how smooth the Jimmy Joy shake is. Compared to what? Wet sand?? It certainly not even close to the smoothest shake available.
I've had to adjust other products to get a smooth blend. I've added more liquid and mixed it up hours ahead of when I'd need it, making sure I gave it an occasional shake through the day. That didn't work with this product. I tried making it as directed. I tried making it with milk. I tried half milk, half water and I tried making it 5 hours in advance. Nothing worked. The mixture is so gritty. I was struggling not to retch as I drank it! I hate admitting defeat, but I can't drink any more of this vile concoction.
I also have an unopened bag of the chocolate shake. Jimmy Joy said they would refund the money of any unopened bags, but I might just give it a go. After all, Mango is apparently a new flavour, so maybe they haven't quite got it right yet. Chocolate flavour shakes have been around for years - and with so many positive reviews, it's got to be worth a go... hasn't it?
Anyway, I've gone back to my previous supplier for meal replacement shakes. Even if I do try the Jimmy Joy chocolate shake and even if it's as amazing as many reviewers claim, you don't get a second chance at first impressions!

“It is definitely nice to have something to get the right amount in the shakes. I was a bit disappointed in the quality though. There were plastic bits on the edge of the scoop that I had to rip off, but after i removed the loose plastic it has been working great.”
