“We (partner and me - late twenties couple of healthy weights/sedentary lifestyles) recently tried Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake for the first time and bought a few packs of vanilla (as we thought it the safest option flavour-wise until we could try more) and one of each the strawberry and chocolate packs. We wanted to try it as an aid to losing a little weight in conjunction with going to the gym but also to take the hassle out of shopping/preparing meals for a bit. My other half was keen to try Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake as intended (1 packet split into 3 meals a day) but so far I've struggled and have instead eaten a small breakfast and lunch as usual and used Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake for my evening meal.
The texture: Initially we mixed it as recommended and tried straight away but really struggled! The texture was very similar to trying to drink lumpy porridge, with the oats sticking a bit in our throats. After researching this problem a little we tried instead mixing the night before and leaving in the fridge overnight - this really helps (though you still have to shake it quite a bit before drinking) as it makes the consistency a bit slicker so it sticks in your throat less, as well as giving more time for the powder to dissolve.
The taste: I have to say we both liked the vanilla the least - it's just a little too bland I think and some flavour really helps while you're drinking it to overcome the strange consistency (this could just be what we're like though, especially as we're on,y just getting used to it). The chocolate and strawberry were both ok, the added touch of flavour made it much easier to drink. I have heard others preferring the banana packet so definitely plan on trying this next time.
The results: As this is only our first week of trying Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake I don't think there has been any change yet to our weights. We haven't felt hungry afterwards and I actually struggle to drink a whole bottle as I feel so full and instead have to sip it slowly over some time (though my other half doesn't struggle the same). Before drinking we have the usual cravings for something different (particularly in the rubbish wintry weather!) but afterwards I'm certainly too full to want anything else. I haven't noticed any adverse effects (a little tired maybe? But again - winter and dark days!) though it is recommended to make sure you keep drinking plenty of water as well as the Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake or you could become dehydrated. My other half did notice some increased wind related issues but this seemed to only affect him the first night and not since.
Overall: We'll keep trying Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake for at least a while longer, as though it takes some getting used to it certainly seems to be a suitable meal replacement for those looking to simplify things and/or control their food intake. I'm looking forward to trying the banana after hearing good things but we will probably also try mixing our own Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake based on the recipes on the online forum, or adjusting the bought packets by adding some flavour.”
“I had doubts about this product when my friend told me about it, but i took my chances and I am very happy i did. I am using it twice a day and i feel great, I am loosing weight and eating much more less when i did before. I am very happy about this product and i recomended it to my four friend, they are happy about it aswell :)”
“Shipping and handling was quite fast.
Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake itself is really nice, especially if you shake it with some ice cubes so it becomes really cold.
Am definitely going to be a repeat customer.
I do wish there was a larger selection of flavours though.”
“I've tasted all 4 flavors with fear i wouldn't like the texture or taste, yet it seems to me i'll be consuming this once or twice a day, as is so damm easy to prepare and ingest. For me the key is to put it on the blender so it gets like a smoothye. And the freezer helps too. Can't wait for that mango and "neutral" flavor they are announcing. The hardes part is the psicological: to believe you are getting fed without cooking or chewing.”
