Plenny Shake Banana Reviews

4.5 Rating 12,196 Reviews
I have now tried all four standard variants of Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake and I am ready to pick my favourite: Vanilla. It's oat-like taste reminds me of Ben and Jerry's cookie ice cream. I like to have my Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake cold and dense, so that it tastes more like a milkshake of the flavour I just mentioned. My favourite use is taking it to work, to spare both cooking time and eating time while eating healthy.

I was very disappointed with the texture of the product - very grainy and flour-y, in short not at all appetizing in a shake. Also the flavours are very mild and get extremely boring half-way through a meal. I cannot recommend this brand of the well known American competitor-products. My expectations were quite high due to the excellent reviews and my previous experiences with similar products. There are brands with far superior texture out there, so the graininess is not something I was expecting and am not willing to accept.

This is an absolutely ok product. It works in the sense that it makes you feel full, and it tastes quite all right. I am normally very much against artificial flavoring and usually can't stand it, but even the fruity flavors, strawberry and banana, are not too artificially tasting. As everyone else says, the chocolate flavor, indeed, doesn't dissolve as well as the other three. Replacing one meal a day feels alright with me, or when I would normally skip a meal because of time constraints, I'd rather this than nothing at all. It's also a good alternative to junk food for late night hunger attacks. I could not, however, live exclusively off this product. The sheer thought of it is absurd. I also very much encourage anyone to play around with the shakes, I already read some great ideas here, e.g. adding cinnamon, blend in a banana or other fruit, etc... I usually add some orange juice. One can get very creative, and one can influence and fine tune the taste very easily. Why not 5 stars? I was taken a bit aback by the shake being so "oatmeal-y", but it makes sense, I guess, that this is not really possible, because of some insoluble ingredients...also, 5 stars would sound like this is an awesome product. And it's not. It tastes alright and it does the job, but there's always room for improvement. This is a food replacement that has a very limited amount of endorphins released compared to real food, and would I have the time, I'd always prefer the real deal.

The taste of Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake is generally acceptable. Banana and strawberry don’t taste artificial, which is very nice, usually fruity flavors are prone to taste rather artificial, but both taste alright. As everyone else mentions, chocolate is not as soluble as the other three flavors. Vanilla is my favorite. One can fine tune the taste of Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake quite easily, I usually add some orange juice, but there are other nice ideas here in the reviews, e.g. warm milk, blend in fruits, add cinnamon, etc…which I still have to check out. I find Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake to be a nice alternative for when you don’t have time for a meal and would otherwise skip it entirely, as well as an alternative to junk food for late night hunger attacks. I would not, however, want to live off Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake alone, the sheer thought of it seems absurd. Why not 5 stars? I was more under the impression of the shake to be more shake like, it reminds me of oatmeal in consistency, but I guess it’s not possible to make it as nourishing without the “oatmeal-y” feel. Generally, Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake is not a product that “wows” me, but it does the job. You feel full and nourished and that’s kinda the point of it. However, I think a 5 star product should release some sort of endorphins, which it certainly doesn’t do like regular food.

For my first pack, I got the variety pack - Chocolate, Strawberry and Banana. Chocolate - Don't really like this flavour, its hard to explain, its drinkable, but I wouldn't look at getting it again. Banana - This is my favourite flavour. Strawberry - Really like this flavour. I mix Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake and water the night before in the blender and then put it in the fridge - I find that this gives it the smoothest texture. When mixing in the mixer, I find it can be a bit gritty still. All in all, was sceptical at first, but I do like this product, and will use it again in the future.

I love all the flavors, but banana is my favorite! It's really a wonderful alternative in the hectic lifestyle we live in. Can only recommend! No more hassling food shopping. No more clean up!
