“Despite ordering on June 19th (albeit to an overseas and, I regret, imminently non-EU address), it wasn't until June 28th—some seven working days later—that I actually received notification of dispatch followed, momentously, by the arrival of my long-anticipated first batch of Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake powder on July 1st, almost two working weeks after purchase; so whilst R. Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake & Son work to iron those stubborn logistical creases out of their fulfilment operation, if you're still debating the merits of Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake as panacea to that dreaded somnambulent, leisure-sapping tedium-tour of grocery-store aisles (virtual or otherwise) which is the weekly penance of the Great British prole, my advice is: plan *well* ahead.
This lone caveat aside, having now sampled each of the 'core' flavours over the course of an intensive five-day trial—strawberry won out, followed closely by banana, although mango did seem a trifle bland—I'm pleased to report that Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake leaves me feeling adequately sated with only a residual craving for solid matter, which vestige of my erstwhile habitual 'grazing' and overall chronic dietary neglect I would ultimately expect to subside over time, as old conditioning gives way to new.
Meanwhile, I've experienced the concept of sustenance reduced to its most basic, nutritionally concentrated form, eminently suited to those (i.e. most) occasions when the hunger-imperative is less an entreaty to gastronomic delight than it is the earthly encumbrance of 'flights' more metaphysical or mentally aspirational, and with my week-ends no longer co-opted by such edifying pastimes as endlessly scrubbing baked-on Quorn residue off the inside of cookware I can perhaps now trade the questionable hospitality of the modern Swiss Army microwave for that of someone to whom cooking is, itself, an outlet for aspiration. Win-win? I think so.
In short: providing they can fine-tune their shipping process, Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake have secured a customer for life—or at least, until the pound collapses. If only Tesco would catch on, so I might stockpile enough to see me through the impending economic Dark Age without signalling my bourgeois presence to the inevitable packs of post-Brexit looters. Tastee Wheat still keeps for at least two hundred years, right?
Verdict: 4/5”
“Doesn't matter if you're travelling, have a busy life or you are just lazy - Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake will solve your tummy problems in a healthy manner.”
“No problem at all, and I've had a quick response to my mails. The ETA is ok, the Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake itself is perfect. I put a bit less water than recommanded, it gives me that thick, satisfying and tasty Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake I half-drink/half-eat while doing something else.”
“My experience began, when I asked the customerservice if my order could be sent 1 day earlier. This way the Jimmy Joy/Plenny shakeshakes could be taken with on a holiday. Tim of the customerservice was very kind and arranged everything.
The shakes themselves are very well edible. Can't say they are delicious, but for an instant meal they are tasty. I've tried all 3 vegetarian flavours with water and cocosmilk. I would advice to take it with cocosmilk instead of water. Then they are more tasty :)
Need a quick and healthy meal? Try Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake!”
“I have been really happy with the product and i will def continue to order the shakes. They are perfect to bring to work for lunch and to have as a quick breakfast on the go!”
“So I get a few things:
When I buy Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake, it's overseas, and it takes a while to ship. The shipping cost is non-intuitive, because UPS as a local-national carrier sneaks in customs processing fees. plenny shake sport can't be shipped to me, because of American laws. And last time, my credit card seized up on a suspected-fraudulent-charge from their website.
I want to be clear: Those are problems that could not be addressed unless they set up shop in North America.
If I had any beef with things they could control: Order tracking verbosity. Other than that, Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake's very much what I want; A Whey-heavy meal substitute. And I'd rate them 5-stars for their order they fulfilled blisteringly fast around Christmas. But for this weird hiccup, that seems to be coming from their growing pains, 4-stars.”
“I tried Jimmy Joy/Plenny shake the first time and I'm happy that I did.
I totally recommend it!
Fast tasty meals! And it takes some hours til you are hungry again. So everything is awesome!
About 1 minute preparing and you are great for several hours!”
