Biofarms Tasmania is an Organic cropping farm
located in the peaceful town of Forth, in northern Tasmania. The main
BioFarms property is perched on a hill close to the ocean and near the pristine
waters of the Forth river, taking advantage of the clean air and perfect cool
climate growing conditions in Tasmania.
The farms are a real family affair and an investment for future generations.
Three brothers, Chris, Mark and David Benson, run the operation with the help
of their wives and their 15 children who love to help on the farm. The Benson’s
use traditional organic methods of farming combined with the latest technology
that assists them with planting, harvesting, irrigating, washing and packing.
The Benson’s properties create local employment to assist with hand weeding
the crops. Together with the latest technology and a family commitment to
organic farming, this enables them to grow commercial quantities of fantastic
tasting, organically grown produce in the fertile, nutrient rich soils of Tasmania
giving a premium quality product based on both on taste and nutritional value.
