Hi Earl, To lock into the flagpole, please follow these steps! Aim at the slope/background behind the flagpole, and long press the power button to enter scanning mode. Move the target indicator from the background to the flagpole slowly. When locked correctly, the rangefinder will vibrate. Hope this helps!
