Burnet XL Polarized Sunglasses - Blackwash / Grey 12 Reviews

The search is over. Finally, finally, finally a pair of sunglasses that fit my large melon! These sunglasses fit me like a glove. It's been years, and many pairs of sunglasses from a variety of makers, since I've had a fit this good. I've loved Kaenon since buying my first pair many years ago (a pair of Klemm with Rx lenses), and since two more pairs (Arlo and Burnett XL). They were all excellent sunglasses, but these are, by far, my favorites. After destroying my Burnett XLs (completely my own fault), I needed a replacement pair. Went to a local surf shop to try on what they had in stock, and they had the Silverwoods amongst a couple more. For some reason, this model doesn't come up in either the medium or large fit when searching the Kaenon site. It should. I have a large, but narrow head (7 7/8" hat size). The most difficulty I have with finding frames that fit me is temple length (they're almost always too short) and bridge width/fit (frames almost universally slide down my nose). As I said, these fit like a glove. The temple length is listed at 126 mm, which isn't very long. The lense curvature must make up the difference, because the temples on these glasses fit me better than any pair I've had in years, both sunglasses and regular eyeglasses. The bridge is perfect as well. I put the glasses on and they stay put. No sliding down my nose, having to constantly push them back up. Getting used to the Ultra Brown 12 lenses. Clarity and contrast are great, just not a huge fan of the color shift of the brown lenses. I generally buy neutral Gray 12 lenses, but the Silverwoods don't come in a frame color I like with the gray lenses. Kaenon, please offer the Silverwoods in the Blackwash frame color like the Burnett XLs, with the Grey 12 lenses, and you'll have created the perfect pair of sunglasses in my opinion. My only concern with these are the hinges. Every other pair of Kaenons I've had used stainless steel hinges. These use plastic hinges with some sort of internal metal spring to keep them open or closed. Time will tell how well they hold up.
