The open tap crimp sleeve is great for making permanent electrical connections on 12.5ga and 14 ga wire smooth wire. The advantage of this sleeve is the open side that allows for installation after wire has been tensioned. This crimp sleeve is intended to be used as a connector and or jumper, do not use it for connections requiring strength or tension. Use the 3-4 slot of a crimp tool to fully compress the Open Tap Crimp.
If you need a non-permanent or removable connection consider using a Split Bolt Line Tap.
