This hardened machined one piece steel rod is ideal for driving the DB6 thru rocky and dry conditions. A standard ground will work great in soft conditions. Warning, the soft steel of a ground rod could mushroom in the anchor if rock is impacted.

“Yes, this works, but it has a flaw. It's a two piece rod (I don't know why) with a fat threaded mid-connector. That mid-connector snags in the hole when you try to pull out the drive rod. 1/2" ground rod does a great job of putting the anchor down, and slips out of the hole like a hot knife through butter. You don't even have to cut the ground rod if you don't wan to.”
