This 1" raw fiberglass rod is a great alternative material for posts and droppers that provides strength and self-insulating properties. This material can be custom cut to length but is also available as precut 5' rods (F1R5) and 6’ rods (F1R6). This is uncoated B-grade fiberglass so use gloves when handling. Drilling these posts gives you the option to run wires directly through the post or use 12½ gauge cotter pins (FCPCR) or 14 gauge cotter pins (FCPCH) to hold wires at the intended height. You can also use dropper clips (FP1) with these rods.

“I was disappointed when I received my order. I ordered one and one quarter inch rods. I received one inch rods instead. After waiting 3 weeks I decided to keep the order instead of shipping them back. Then I find I was getting charged twice for the order. I called and Justin straightened everything out. I know things are crazy right now because of the virus but I was disappointed with the service. I will say everyone I talked to were very nice”

“The rods were of correct length and diameter as described, but I asked for them to be tapered to a point on one end to be driven into the dirt easier. The salesperson ensures they would be, but the rods were delivered with flat ends making in harder to stake.”

“I used these rods as fence posts for an electrified fence enclosing my bee yard. They worked well, however I was a bit disappointed with the lack of protection during shipping. The rods were only loosely wrapped in thin plastic and half the length was exposed. I would have expected at least cardboard for shipping.”
