“Since these are plastic with a metal U-bolt for clamping, I didn't want to ver-tighten them (risking breakage). If the posts are rusty, the insulator will grip very well and not slip/slide with only modest tightening. With smooth galvanized pipe, you never can really get enough tension to eliminate all slippage.”

“Product indicates will fit 2" square metal posts. The U bolt is too short once you condsider the length needed to apply the fastener. I had to go to the hardware store and purchase additional hardware (longer) U bolts at my expense. Product is misrepresented.”
“Although the Tube Post Offset Insulators are to be used for hot wiring a fence, we were using them as a deterrent for our sky-high jumping dog. We really didn't want to shock him, just keep him off the fence so he could not scale it and this works. We use a type ribbon that is slightly stronger than regular surveyors ribbon, more like a crime scene type strength. If he jumps on it, it will not tear without great difficulty but it does not allow for him to reach the top railing of the post. So he won't be shocked and neither will he get stuck in wire, which could really cause harm. These insulators are made so that they go either horizontally or vertically on a post and with the webbing in between, you can put the ribbon anywhere you like on it, which is different than the other type of insulators I saw online. So, the long and short of it is, these are the best!”
