“These re great for shorter runs of wire, but are delicate. We own several of these, but if they are dropped then the two hooks that hold them to the fence or stake easily break off. Half of ours now have one hook. Workable but wish they were more durable.”
“For the price, it is awesome for subdivisions within a pasture. It also saves me from putting the twine on myself. However, I used it tonight and had an issue tightening up the twine. I had to fix this by unwinding the whole reel and threading the twine through the little hole on the handle side of the reel and knotting it. It works great now.”
“I have several of these. Really handy for temporary fence or to put wire in the spring and take down in the fall after the grazing season (I only do seasonal grazing). Great for storing wire and I can label it for where it goes next year. Just don't leave the spool up where the cattle can knock it down and break it.”
“This works great for grazing small groups of animals on small areas. I can imagine it would get frustrating if you're grazing a herd of 60 dairy cows, but for our 25 sheep, it's perfect. At this price, I can buy a whole pile of them and put up two or three strands in a hurry. My only regret is not buying more last spring. The pre-loaded reels are a great bargain at the closeout price! Hopefully Kencove will continue to carry the reels themselves.”
