Hayes Strainer - Stainless-Steel Strap with Zinc Cog Reviews

4.9 Rating 13 Reviews
Read Kencove Farm Fence, Inc Reviews

When installing high tensile wire, achieving proper tension is crucial to the performance and effectiveness of your fence. Strainers, like the Hayes strainers, make tensioning wire easy.
This strainer features a spring-loaded flap that catches each turn of the cog to ensure it remains safe and secure while increasing tension. Use a strainer handle to ratchet the cog and remove slack in the wire.
The stainless-steel strap along with the zinc cog makes for a long-lasting strainer that can handle years of weather and exposure to the elements.
Hayes strainers are designed to be attached to high tensile wire via crimp sleeve. To install, simply slide a crimp sleeve onto the wire tail, loop the tail through the hole in the strainer strap, and join the wire back onto itself using the crimp sleeve.

Absolutely the best strainers I’ve used. These are built very well and it’s easy to get the wire to wind up on the tapered spool.

Very tough wire tightener. I made the mistake, once, of buying tighteners from Tractor Supply and they frequently would deform under tension and fall apart. These tighteners from Kencove, are very stout and since they are made of stainless steel, they should last practically forever. Worth the price.

My favorite of all that I have used. Especially like the tapered spool. Makes it easy to start and get the wire wrapped around it.

I really like these tensioning ratchets. They seem to be of very high quality. We'll see how they hold up over time.

Better than the aluminum ones I live on the coast and the others rust out

Great quality, great price, I don’t waste my money at my local ag stores on their Chinese strainers.
