Because it attaches to the body of the t-post rather than sitting over the top of the post like other drivers, the PostMate provides damage-free driving of posts and also eliminates the need to use a ladder with taller posts. “While expensive, this post driver is so worth the investment. Would never consider any other way to drive posts longer than 5 feet. Worked great on my 8 and 10s. It requires more strength to use, but does a much better ans safer job. Too bad my neighbors saw me using it, I suspect many will ask to borrow it.”

“After about 30 posts, the locking pin was driven below one of the T-post "bumps"; was bent and had to be cut with a hack saw in order to be removed. I don't think this would have happened if the locking pin (7/16") was a larger diameter. It is also possible that I used the "wrong" holes, so that all the force was taken by the pin instead of the upper part of the stationary part. I replaced it with a 1/2" X 4" locking pin purchased online which easily fits the existing holes. Also likely available at tractor supply and hardware stores. I also noticed some green jello-like goop oozing out the bottom. Wonder what that is? Without the 1/2" diameter pin I would give it a 2. I gave it a 3 because it does do the job and is useful as a puller. However, if one doesn't foresee needing a puller, I would consider using a cheaper "standard" driver and portable platform or step stool.”
