Baobab (tree of life), is a type of tree native to Africa, Australia and Madagascar. It has a distinctive appearance, with a thick trunk and large broad branches that spread out like roots. It produces large, nutrient-rich fruit (especially vitamin C, iron, fibre and antioxidants), that is often used both in food and in traditional medicine. Baobab is known for many health benefits providing support to the immune system, enhancing skin health, and helping to fortify the body's defences. Baobab contains essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are beneficial for bone health, muscle function, and overall cellular health. This dark glass pot contains 100g of powder which is organic. It is naturally free from gluten, wheat, dairy, wheat, preservatives, synthetics, sweeteners and artificial colours and fillers, all of which I strongly approve. This powder is suitable for Vegan and vegetarian diets. It is suggested to add around one teaspoon to cereal or a smoothie. I love the taste; it is very citrus, tangy and reminds me of lemon sherbert. I have added it to my kombucha drink at night. I find it doesn’t dissolve completely but gives the drink a very nice sharp taste. I think this pot will last me around a month and I feel that is enough time to decide if this product is beneficial for oneself. The price is around average but, as this brand is such great quality, it is good value, and I especially like that it is organic.

Reading the nutritional composition of this, per 100g it has a nice 44g of fibre, 66mg vitamin C, 3.7mg iron, 25g sugar and 2g protein. Bearing in mind that you will only be having 1 teaspoon of this at a time (which is about 3g), per teaspoon you'll only be getting 1g fibre, 2mg vitamin C, 0.1mg iron, 0.8g sugar, 0.06g protein. Internet research tells me it also contains a little bit of calcium, potassium, magnesium, bioflavonoids and other antioxidants (such as polyphenolic compounds like tannins, flavonoids, xanthones, carotenoids, phenolic acids including gallic acid and caffeic acid and saponins). Antioxidant power of foods is measured in "ORAC" and the ORAC value of baobab powder is around 10,000 to 15,000 µmol TE per 100g. ( for comparison, blueberries are only 4669 µmol TE/100g on the same scale, Acai berries are ~18,500, and 85% dark chocolate is ~20,000). So baobab powder does have a nice amount of antioxidants in it.Having said that, again, in 1 teaspoon it doesn't give a huge amount of these. I suppose a little is better than none at all though. But I think it's fair to say this doesn't add a huge amount of nutritional content to your food if you're just having one teaspoon - the nutrient amounts are quite microscopic in a teaspoon. So I think you add this mostly for the flavour. It adds a hint of zingy tanginess, a hint of a slight citrusy flavour. It's best added raw onto uncooked things (like muesli, into yoghurt, into cold granola, cold overnight oats or a cold smoothie) since heating would oxidise vitamin C and potentially some of the antioxidants it has.

I discovered this brand last year, and already have quite a few of their products, so was keen to try this organic baobab powder. Kiki Health is an independent, British-based, ethical company, and this product is not only organic but naturally free from gluten and wheat, with no artificial colours, preservatives, sweeteners or fillers. I also like the packaging - a glass jar with a screw top metal lid, so fully recyclable.I don't do smoothies, but I find that most of my Kiki Health supplements are great to add to my morning porridge. I ring the changes all the time by making porridge with different seeds and dried fruits, so added a teaspoon of this baobab powder to an apricot and sunflower seed porridge. I'd not tried baobab before, but really liked its tangy, citrusy flavour. As the powder is a cream colour, and a nice fine texture, I shall also be adding it to Greek yoghurt.

As described and as advertised. Well packaged and presented in brand bottle/jar. Clear and easy to read/follow dosage/ serving instructions, ingredients and other key information. Organic so a price premium to be expected. Good consistency without clumping or visible contaminants. Adequate tamper evident heat seal before opening. We’d prefer a security seal like a plastic wrapper around the lid. Good flavour and nice addition to yogurt or smoothies etc. Whilst we are unable to provide a meaningful quantitative assessment as to any noticeable health benefits, we can confirm, however, no noticeable adverse side effects like digestive discomfort. No issues and no complaints - good reputation seller but slightly expensive for quantity

Baobab is highly nutritious and this powder makes a great addition to my morning cereal. You get 100g in an attractively designed screw top jar. The taste is fresh and tangy with a hint of sweetness. I found the powder really versatile and it can be used in so many ways such as smoothies, nice cream, homemade energy bars etc. The fact that it is raw and organic is also a bonus!

I've not tried baobab previously but from the health benefits mentioned on the product listing, it sounded worth a try.It is high in Vitamin C and iron, and the listing mentions supporting your immune system, enhancing skin health, fortifying your body's defences, improve digestion and manage blood sugar.Jar states it has been sustainably harvested. It is organic, vegan, free from gluten and wheat, no artificial colours, preservatives, sweeteners or fillers. It has a fragrant smell. I tried adding one teaspoon when preparing my porridge overnight. With so many other flavours, I am unable to taste it individually, but that suits me just fine. I did also try a tiny taste from the tip of a spoon and it is nice and tangy.

I’ve been reading a lot about the alleged benefits of baobab powder recently. I’m aware that it’s used in Africa for medicinal purposes and it seems there are no known side effects or contra indications if taken in the recommended amount. It’s important to me that this is produced in the Uk, I can be assured that production standards will be high. I don’t want floor sweepings included in my product as may be the case in some countries where regulations are lax. This company is reputable and I take assurance from that. It’s very difficult to quantify any alleged health benefits. I have an auto immune condition which causes inflammation and I’m interested to find anything that may reduce inflammation naturally. I’ve added a spoon of this to a morning fruit drink and it disappears in the juice. Very easy to take and I’m hopeful that I’ll see some improvement to inflammation in coming weeks. I’m happy to recommend this supplement.

This review is for "KIKI Health 100% Raw Organic Baobab Powder - Rich in Vitamin C, High Fibre & Antioxidants - Made in The UK, Vegan, Supports Healthy Skin, Digestion & Blood Sugar, Ideal for Smoothies & Juices -100 g."I have been a fan of Baobab powder for a long time - I like the tart flavour it adds when a small amount is added to smoothies, breakfast cereals etc. Not something to eat by itself as it has a drying effect on the mouth - paired with suitable other foods it is great. It doesnt have a great amount of vitamin C, but is a source of antioxidants which is helpful. This version looks and tastes just the same as others I have used before, and comes in a dark glass jar which is easy to reclose and prevent moisture getting in. There is a tamper seal on the top of the jar too.The price at the time of review was around £10 which is pretty normal for this kind of product.
