“Camu Camu is an obscure South American berry that is, I'm assured, the most concentrated source of Vitamin C on the surface on the planet. This powder can then be added to water, juice or a smoothie for an instant boost. It is of course quite sour tasting, so for me best in a smoothie. Reasonable value and attractive packaging too. Recommended.”
“This powder from Kiki health looks like a very good way of supplementing with vitamin C. It appears to be a reputable company and as the powder is from a natural food source, I hope that the vitamin C will be more absorbable than synthetic vitamins. Before I order any supplements, I always check out the company, and this one seems to be good. It is certainly widely available and well reviewed. I also checked the Soil Association organic certificate, which is reassuring. It is suggested that you take one heaped teaspoon (5g) as a possible dose and at this rate the bottle would last 14 days. A useful thing to have when recovering from illness.I tried a little of this powder on its own and found it to be quite astringent. It also has a sharp, possibly fruity, flavour. It was much better in water and better again in fruit juice. The powder is quite coarse, and would benefit from being mixed with something smooth like yoghurt, or a smoothie.I will update this review if I have anything to add after taking this powder for longer.”
“Whereas nutrient-wise I don’t believe in getting too much of anything, I do believe in getting nutrients from a wide range of sources, especially when they’re as pure and natural as possible, so was pleased to try this organic camu camu powder from KIKI Health with it’s naturally-occuring high vitamin C content (a nutrient the body can’t synthesise so has to be sought from without).I like the brand, so was keen to give this a try. I hadn’t heard of camu camu until recently, but it seems to have quite a range of benefits believed to be associated with it, as well as being a good source of antioxidants and flavonoids. Of course, with the high vitamin C content it may be advisable to watch other sources of vitamin C on the days when the powder is being consumed, but by that I mean other vitamin C supplements (or vitamin C containing products) rather than just ordinary fruits and vegetables.Taste-wise, the powder is neutral in water: neither pleasant nor unpleasant. It’s certainly drinkable though. However, there’s other ways of taking the powder than just water. I like to mix a range of powders (and maybe some other foods) into a mini blender where tastes can be masked. This powder works well in such a scenario. However, I would take the powder even in water as I would prefer to have a good healthy product even if the taste isn’t the overly sweet taste many people are accustomed to nowadays. The jar is a little smaller than some of KIKI Health’s other products, but it’s reasonably priced and is ideal for people wishing to try the product before committing themselves to it. However, there’ll still be a good amount of servings in it (70 according to the product’s description page, which isn’t bad for the price and quality). It also comes well-sealed.As mentioned, I do like the KIKI Health brand and look for products bearing the name as I like the pure status of the supplements it produces (in this case 100% raw ingredients, which is great). I also like the fact that they’ve introduced a powder I can see me taking again, as I’m always keen to try new products and to keep away from synthetic alternatives. For me this supplement is a winner.”
“KIKI Health Premium 100% Raw Organic Camu Camu Powder | Sustainably Sourced Superfood | 463% Vitamin C in 1 TSP | Boost Collagen, Gluten-Free & Vegan | Certified Organic by Soil AssociationI have never heard of Camu Camu before, but reading about I decided to give it a try. It is a natural and concentrated source of Vitamin C, essential for immune function, collagen production, and overall health. But as others said - the taste is very sour, and in order to 'hide' it I would need to significantly reduce the amount. I will try still to experiment, but it is not your regular easy to take/mox product due to the very unique taste.”
“I had fancied this may well assist in my get better endeavours, sadly for me I simply could not get past the taste - I don't drink smoothies so could not mask the taste that way and simply had not a hope of being able to take it. It smelt divine I have to say and I was all for having a bash, but not.”
“The media could not be loaded. I was really looking forward to the benefits of this, however I think I would prefer to source ot on capsule form, it taste absolutely rancid, the only way I can describe the taste is it taat like stomach acid/bile, it also doesn't dissolve well, now it does recommend you add to a smoothie, I did only try it in water, its a very strong bitter taste though so I'm not convinced it could be disguised but I guess it depends on your pallette”
“At this early stage it is too early to see if the benefits this product claims will come to fruition as supplements like this take sustained usage before they to begin to work. Collagen for instance needs up to 8 weeks of use before any results should be felt. However, this tastes fine when mixed with a smoothie - you can barely taste it at all in fact - and is a very reasonable price. My one concern though is the dosage. This is advised to be a heaped teaspoon full which is around 5g. 5g equates to 5000mg and the daily recommended amount of Vitamin C for adults is 2000mg. Although taking more that that is not dangerous, it can cause flatulence and nausea. So, personally I am going to take half to be on the safe side. If this defeats the object then I hope a reviewer more knowledgeable than I will point out my error. On the plus side though, if I am right, the bottle will last twice as long than if you take the full dose!”
“Vitamin C is essential for amongst other things, healthy skin, collagen and connective tissue. Getting more in your diet is as easy as adding a heaped teaspoon of this powder to a smoothie or into a beverage. The powder has a slightly sharp taste, but not as sharp and acidic as I expected. It dissolves easily and I drink it mixed in with water.”
