“Goji berries are considered a superfood due to being a rich source of nutrients. Buying them in powdered form makes sense to us because it’s cost-effective compared to buying the dried berries that are commonly available. Another advantage is that the powder has a long shelf life and can be kept readily available in the kitchen. This Kiki Health product is certified organic, which is mainly why we chose it. We don’t want to consume any more pesticides than we can help. The powder is easy to work with and has a mildly sweet taste. We add some to our overnight oats or other cereal and find that it blends in easily and adds a subtle and pleasant flavour to the food.”
“I'm always happy to try a new Kiki Health product since I feel this is a reputable brand, selling their health products for about 25 years now, and basing their ethos on selling often organic products without synthetic additives, fillers or artificial elements. So in tune with that, this goji berry powder is indeed organic, 100% raw and without any additives.I wanted to try this goji berry powder to add an extra boost of nutrition to my smoothies. It adds a sweet / sour taste, as well as adding lots of nutrients. I believe the goodies in this include lots of antioxidants (eg zeaxanthin, lutein, vitamin C, selenium), minerals like iron (14mg per 100g, zinc 1.7mg per 100g), vitamin C (24mg per 100g, vitamin A), a little fibre (11.5mg per 100g) and all the essential amino acids (14g protein per 100g).For those sensitive to sugar, it's worth noting despite this appearing to be high sugar at 43.9g per 100g, I understand that studies suggest that goji berries may help with sugar balancing because it contains a special polysaccharide called LBP which has been shown to enhance glucose metabolism and improve insulin sensitivity. If you are sensitive to sugar though, I would read up on this and double checking it's ok for you.I've read up on the benefits of goji berries and it looks like studies suggest they help with lots of things including boosting the immune system, are anti-inflammatory, fighting against oxidative damage, fight against macular degeneration, are good for blood pressure, sugar balancing, brain function, heart health, liver health and mental state! Apart from mixing the powder into smoothies you can also mix it into vanilla ice cream to make a berry flavour, or into homemade puddings and cold desserts. It's best not to cook with it or mix into warm or hot things because that may destroy some of the beneficial nutrients.”
“Goji berries are recommended for people who suffer regularly with bladder infections - I think because it helps to make your urine acidic which kills off the offending bacteria. Often people who catherise fall into that category which is my condition and as soon as it arrived I was adding a teaspoonful of this powder to some Greek yoghurt - my after dinner dessert and also sprinkling it on my morning porridge. Good stuff!”
“I’m always pleased to try supplements from Kiki health because they appear to be an established reputable brand but I do wonder whether you would be better just buying the dried berries in this case.Although they are high in vitamin C, it states that you only get 25 mg per hundred grams of product and you only get 70 g of powder in the pot so you have to hope that it is highly absorbable! However I am sure that benefits of goji berries go far beyond the vitamin C and they are reputed to be highly valuable for your health. What you get is an orange powder which tastes like goji berries and would be easy to mix into drinks or smoothies. I will add mine to my muesli. I always think that goji berries are rather bland and underwhelming in flavour and this powder reflects that. The powder comes in a medium sized glass jar, well sealed, and with a use by date which I think says September 2026, two years from now. I have checked the Soil Association website and confirmed the organic certification.”
“I ordered Kiki Health's chaga mushroom extract but received the same manufacturer's organic goji berry instead. That didn't bother me, as I love organic goji, but it means I'm reviewing Kiki Health's goji berry supplement here, not the chaga. (I know there's a separate Amazon product page for Kiki Health's goji berry powder, but because this is a Vine review it has to go here, where the Vine link leads.)Goji berries are an abundant source of compounds that benefit health. They contain phytochemicals (including polysaccharides, beta-carotene, and zeaxanthin) which benefit eye health, skin health, cardiovascular health, brain health (they are neuroprotective), and cell development, among myriad other things. The berries contain prebiotic fibre, so if you consume them along with a probiotic supplement, you'll get much more benefit out of the latter. Because of goji berries' adaptogenic properties, they help the human body to adapt to any form of stress (physical, mental, emotional, environmental), resulting in a feeling of greater well-being, with a knock-on effect of improved sleep quality. This is one superfood that really deserves that title.Kiki Health's goji berry supplement contains no additives whatsoever - just pure powdered organic goji berry which is perfect for adding to porridge, drinks, or whatever else you choose. The organic certification means no pesticides or other biocides have been applied to these berries. That's how all wholefood supplements should be. Why would any sane person even consider consuming something so toxic (biocides) that its name literally means "life-killer"? That's a rhetorical question. No sane person would willingly do so. Organic is the way.I've been adding some of this powdered goji berry to my organic porridge along with some organic Ceylon cinnamon and organic peanut butter, for a breakfast that's a full-on nutrient-dense feast that couldn't be healthier or tastier. The berry powder has an enjoyable tangy flavour. The powder comes in an amber glass bottle. Amber glass blocks UV light, ensuring that the contents of the bottle undergo no chemical changes as a result of UV exposure. Good design. There's nothing to criticise. A healthy supplement that has many pros but no cons.”
“Came well packaged. Only received it a few days ago. Been adding it to my daily smoothies. To early for me to comment on the powder. Looks good quality and organic”
