“We all know claimed benefits of vit c and acerola is one of the natural sources of vit c. This acerola is produced from organic materials. I take it with my juice, and don't feel any unpleasant taste. I am not brave enough to try it without juice though so unable.to say how it would taste if mixed in other foods or drinks. But definitely goes well in orange juice!”
“Acerola cherries are known for their unusually high vitamin C content, and are one of the best sources of it, but they contain more than just this, being also sources of certain B vitamins, vitamin A and a good selection of minerals. They’re also known for various purported health benefits. Although it may be argued that both the synthetic version of vitamin C and the natural version are chemically the same, I still prefer to get mine from natural sources where possible, so am pleased to be taking this 100% acerola cherry product from KIKI Health (a brand which I’ve had quite a few products from).Like other acerola products I’ve had, the powder tends to clump and is better being mixed into drinks with an electric or manual blender than being hand stirred into them. As expected, It also has a tart cherry taste, which may have been enhanced by the raspberry ketones that the technical information states has been added to the powder. From my understanding it seems that these help provide a fruity aroma to foods like this. The taste isn’t unpleasant, but some people may prefer to mix the powder with sweeter ingredients. Typical of the brand, it’s a good, high quality product without additives (minus the ketones, of course, which I presume are entirely natural). Price reflects quality, and the bottle (again with the customary darkened glass to preserve nutrient content) is 100g, with each serving being a teaspoon (typically 6g) delivering 1275% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C. Obviously, less can be taken to make the bottle last longer. Even half a teaspoon still amounts to a worthy supply of the vitamin. What’s great about this product is that the cherries are harvested while still green as they contain twice as much vitamin C than when ripe. Also, to preserve the enzyme and mineral content they’re immediately freeze-dried.If after a particularly good and bioavailable vitamin C product, along with the other associated benefits of the wonderful acerola cherry, this should be given serious consideration.”
“Mixing a teaspoon of this into my morning smoothie has been a simple but noticeable boost. The tangy, slightly tart flavour blends well with fruits – I dodged a couple of colds that seemed to hit everyone around me.I take it with MSM for skin and joint health. This compared to Vitamin C powder is natural and the vitamin C powder is normally extracted from a mould fungus.”
“This Acerola cherry powder from Kiki Health has a lovely strong zingy flavour which will be great for adding to my morning muesli or smoothie. it’s full of vitamin C and also improves the taste. It comes as a brown powder in a well-sealed, small glass bottle.I have tried many products from Kiki Health and always been happy with them. They have Soil Association organic certification for this product, which I have checked and find reassuring. The best before date is July 2025, well over two years hence.”
“I generally like acerola powder and this one from Kiki is not an exception. I like the high quality of it.It is a little more pricey than i normally used to pay, but i like the high-quality immune boost that this product brings to the table. It tastes great too.”
“This is a really good source of vitamin C - I have always naturally thought of Oranges but this is far more potent actually. An easy way to get it into your diet - I keep the pot by my blender so any time I have a soup or a smoothie I throw some in there. It doesn't taint the flavour in any way either.”
“This freeze-dried acerola powder is an orange-brown colour. It comes supplied in a quality dark brown bottle. It's made in the UK but I don't know where the acerola is sourced from). I'd trust Kiki health to supply a quality product, though for 100g of acerola powder, it's almost certainly not the cheapest. The powder is certified organic by the Soil Association.According to the label, the acerola cherries are harvested while still green because that's when the vitamin C content is highest. They are immediately freeze dried. This is almost certainly a great source of vitamin C, and there are many other potential benefits of acerola cherries too.The taste is a little fruity, quite sour with a little sweetness - fairly pleasant. The powder is fine and should mix easily into liquids.”
“It smells a bit like chocolate but tastes on its own like a salty green apple to me with perhaps a hint of strawberrry aftertaste. So the taste is ok, I wouldn’t say yummy, I mixed it with an apple, lemon and ginger juice from a supermarket. It tasted fine, I prefer the taste of the juice without it, as it enhances the sour taste and added a quite obvious salty taste. It hasn’t got any salt in it but somehow this is in the flavour. I like how it makes me feel though and notice it instantly or within a few seconds after drinking it. I feel lifted, so more focused, more energy and a bit of a cleansing feeling in my body. I’m happy with it I have no complaints. It is quite expensive for the small jar but when I check other supplements I have in bigger jars I see they may have only an extra 50g in them but were half filled whereas this is filled to past the top of the label. I used one teaspoon in my drink which is about 5g and still 91% of my recommended vitamin C intake and only 0.85g of natural sugar. It also contains a lot of potassium which is something I don’t personally always get a lot of in my diet.As a acerola cherries are hard to come by I don’t have them in my diet so I feel the price is ok for organic acerola cherries from a trusted brand I am a fan of because they always do their best to keep the products of highest quality and without overdoing anything.”
