“The matcha has a beautiful vibrant green color, a pleasant smell, and a gentle taste. It's definitely a ceremonial grade tea. I also really like that it comes in a glass jar — it's much easier to use. You could note a color and texture difference to other matcha that wasn't marked as "ceremonial"”
“Delicious Fine Grade Matcha. I'm quite a fan of Matcha, having been introduced to it a few years ago at a Japanese tea ceremony. Back then it was unavailable here in the UK, and had to be imported directly from Japan. Thankfully things have now changed, and it has gone mainstream. The flavour of this ceremonial grade tea is just as I remember the delicious taste all those years ago.
Matcha in lower grades is also used to flavour all manner of foods in Japan, and for good reason - it's delicious! I use it in baking, sprinkled over ice cream, and in porridge. Imagination is the only limit to experimentation really. The higher, ceremonial grade, is kept for drinking.
This Matcha is lovely and fresh tasting, with a vibrant colour and delicate well balanced flavour. It comes finely powdered - better than some other more corse versions I've encountered. The jar is ideal for keeping it fresh, and I store mine in the fridge. I mix mine using a traditional bamboo matcha whisk, but it's also possible to use a Velvetiser or a frother whisk if you don't have the proper Japanese version. Remember, this is intended to make a short drink, like a true Italian espresso, not a huge mug of liquid.
Five stars from me!”
“Great value matcha powder. My daughter uses this in a velvetiser to make an afternoon frothy milk drink and loves the taste. Good amount for the price advertised and easily soluble with no bitter taste.”
“I received this item via the vine programme and here is my honest and unbiased review.I am new to matcha, but I must say that I might just be a convert.Definitely better when used with a proper matcha whisk (who knew?).This seems like good stuff!4 stars!”
“Not sure if I received a bad batch, but the jar I received was not good quality matcha. The matcha was a brownish green rather than a vibrant green as high quality matcha should be.”
“This is pure Matcha powder which is a premium ceremonial grade Matcha. You can tell that this is very high quality Matcha, fragrant and having a very rich green colour. The flavour is really nice. If you have never tried Matcha before then it is a drink not everyone will like but if you do then you will really appreciate this. I just dissolve this in hot water to have a really enjoyable drink and I appreciate that I am getting very high quality and organic ceremonial grade Matcha.”
“I am a big fan of green tea and even more so matcha. I love the unique taste that it has to offer, as well as its rich and vibrant green colour, plus it is also said to have huge health benefits if you use it regularly.I was keen to try this particular brand of matcha tea, as not only is it stated to be organic, but also ceremonial grade quality and meaning that this is a superior quality to that of other matcha teas. However, on the face of it, at £14.35 with a 15% discount voucher (at the time of this review), I was a little sceptical about it being premium class, as usually, this type of quality would generally be around three times as much in terms of purchase price. That said, I put that aside and went about trying this product with an open mind and without any preconceptions. Firstly, the tea arrives in a glass jar with a total content of 30 grams. On initial inspection, both the colour and powder ground looked to be on point, so I couldn’t wait to give it a first test run. To prepare the tea for drinking, it does take a little more effort than regular green tea, but I think that the results are usually always worth it. You can make it, as I do, in a purists way, of mixing the powder with a whisk and 60ml of 80 degrees water and then top up with a bit more water once you have created a smooth and foamy consistency. Alternatively, you can make a latte and add a bit of sweetness if you wish.In terms of flavour, it has a nice earthy and grassy characteristics, offering a rich taste that starts off with a slight bitterness and progresses to a mild and mellow sweetness. The quality of this matcha is actually very good, with a smooth and balanced flavour profile. As previously touched on, matcha green tea has a number of health benefits including antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals and is said to provide good wellbeing, faster metabolism and detoxifying properties. Whilst I cannot say either way if this is true or not, for me, I really enjoy drinking matcha tea, so I would drink it in any case, but if the benefits are true, then this is a very welcomed bonus.I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this matcha powder, it offers very good value for money and being of high and ceremonial grade, you are enjoying a high concentrated drink that delivers very much on taste and hopefully on those health benefits. I hadn’t previously heard of this brand (Kiki Health), but for the price and quality, I would definitely purchase this powder again in future. The best part is that although you only get 30mg of powder, a little goes a long way, so it does tend to last a good amount of time.In conclusion, this matcha green tea powder is a fantastic product that offers the unique, but typical matcha flavour that you would expect, providing that perfect drinking experience, no matter how you prefer to prepare it to your own taste.I would recommend this powder to anyone that is wanting to try this type of tea for the first time, but also to anyone that would consider themselves an enthusiast or connoisseur. Everything here is of very good quality, making this an all-round amazing product.”
