“These mushroom extract capsules from KIKI Health are made from organic maitake mushrooms, which apparently have some interesting compounds in them. KIKI Health uses the "fruiting bodies" of the mushroom, which is the actual mushroom part you'd see growing, rather than the mycelium (the root system). They say this part has more of the good stuff. They also standardize the extract to 50% polysaccharides. That means they make sure each capsule has a consistent amount of these complex sugars, which are thought to be the main active components. It also contains triterpenes and polyphenols, which are plant compounds with antioxidant properties. The capsules themselves are veggie and they don't have any fillers or additives, just the pure mushroom extract. I like that they come in a recyclable glass jar with a metal lid; it feels much more premium than plastic, though the bottle is quite big for the number of capsules, it's about half full. It’s a small detail, but I would have preferred either a smaller jar to match the contents better or a larger quantity. It’s a minor thing though, as KIKI Health usually gets things spot on, generally. The features I really like are that they are organic, made from 100% fruiting bodies, standardised to 50% polysaccharides, contain triterpenes and polyphenols, are free from fillers and additives, and come in a recyclable glass jar.”
“This matcha has a delicate and smooth flavour without any bitterness. The 30g of matcha comes nicely presented in a dark glass jar. I always tend to go for Japanese ceremonial grade and this matcha has a fresh taste. Would definitely get again!”
“The capsules are typical size and easy enough to swallow. I appreciate the fact it is suitable for vegans with a vegetarian capsule. You are getting 60 here and if you stick to the lower recommended serving size of 2 then they will last you around a month. You get a decent expiry date so more than enough time to use this supplement up. Certainly one to consider if you are looking for a quality extract.”
