“While this doesn't "catch all" because my cats are frankly messier than the average bear, switching to the Kitty Poo litter and using this mat has significantly reduced the spread outside of the litter area. We keep the litter box in the bathroom, and for the first time in almost a year we humans can actually use that bathroom, too, without being totally grossed out by the smell and the litter all over the floor.
